If you were able to dial in a tone on the HX units this will be an absolute breeze. It’s very intuitive and the way the global eq is set up fine tuning the tone is even easier as you can do those nice broad eq change to enhance more subtly or specific notching/cutting to sort out problems in a flash. I just wish I could justify the cost and not feel bad about having my pedal board sitting gathering dust. TL:DR If you can program a HX Stomp you’ll be fine! 😀
  4. Isn’t that good for the ego?
  5. Just checked, the sliverface 50 is 26.3kgs or 57.8lbs. Ampeg SVT Classic 80lbs or 36.6kgs. I'm done carrying an SVT Classic about but I really want another one! In the interim, I'll make do with my PF50T - 10.2kgs & SVT 3pro - 12kgs but I love using my Bugera BV1001T at 3.2kgs

  7. Very true. But is it worth playing fretless if it sounds like a fretted bass?
  8. Nice board! My sight ia starting to fail me...I could have sworn that was an OC-5! 😅
  9. Normally such a boomer thing to see online but I think this thread has been thankfully free of wife jokes.
  10. Up for sale only is this rather excellent Crafted in Japan vintage white 62 reissue Fender jazz bass with upgraded Nordstrand NJ4 pickups (£160 upgrade). It also has the threaded bridge for better string spacing adjustment. It benefits from a recent fret level, crown and polish with a new set of D'Addario pro steels on. The gloss neck has also been knocked back with zero grade wire wool for a less sticky experience! Those glossy Fender necks do get a bit sticky. Plays excellently, sounds great and looks probably even better in the best colour combo (imho). Comes in a quality padded gig bag although I'm trying to source a case for it so may update the ad. That is not an anarchy symbol in the last pic, it's a reflection of my light fitting (although maybe it's an anarchic light fitting). Can ship anywhere or collection from CH43 on the Wirral Thanks for looking

  12. Mike directed this https://mike-gordon.com/projects/rising-low-2002/ Which is an absolutely stellar doc about bass

I recently bought a pedal from Chris - it was a pleasure and I would do so again. Cheers!
  14. Hi all, I know this is an old post, but just wanted to clarify something. The insurance that we offer is our own https://www.overlandexpress.co.uk/parcel-insurance It is charged at 2%, but for guitar forums, we offer a 40% discount, bringing it down to 1.2%, just enter the discount code FRET2025. You can use your own choice of courier if you prefer and just arrange the insurance with us.
  15. Dearmond Starfire Bass, Cherry red, good condition, with Guild hard case. I bought this used a while back. It’s in lovely condition, sounds and plays great. But after living with it for a while I find the string spacing a little narrow for my old timer fat Fender fingers. I’m culling my over bloated bass collection, so basses that don’t get played much are the first to go. It’s fitted with chrome Gretsch volume and tone controls. Collection in person preferred, but can ship at buyers expense (to be assessed). Please PM with any questions. Cheers!
  16. Dropped to £180, without the spare strings I was originally including. This bass is in hardly used, mint condition.
  17. Just saw an L2 in very good condition. It looks fun, if not funny, but I did not have to buy it. Well, the price was also steep, £4300. I remember the time when it came out and it was something special. It still is, and I wonder when will we get something similar in terms of invention.
  18. The Ibanez Mikro was my choice after trying a few shorties and I love it. I changed the strings to flats because I like that sound, otherwise it's perfect. I bought mine from Amazon with next day delivery and free returns: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ibanez-GSRM20-MiKro-Electric-Guitar/dp/B00YNJGBL6/ref=nav_signin?crid=1A7T2YZ6L695R&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.I0otZrhyHz_aDn61EVJYnWyfCbvDpotpKl4hQchOtJOZwLBHR75NoRC71QBJpx69VNHixH3gUPaJ2VVElMFCe9Ed7pq2YgrjQNIS8UZoAm63xrPuweL8M6Zls3G7l4jzzF8bHSTzD-7IlEZua35iltLZ5OA44in0F-2FWwUhDtfY2xwJOgiVZfCaUdLj3jFsq3KhMpLg8vBr10_KFtykt7EBNrpz4ON8mli5d6O38wyUdyvIayJxLpCNz4au0IZmwliDkW6nXdlchaiYD5E-O_JBO7ZCjNKihoB3jWFUBqo.1jVasVGFw1IDnVCWudZCLu0Y0K-Bqrn39Mkst6vBbcA&dib_tag=se&keywords=ibanez%2Bmikro%2Bbass&qid=1757513174&sprefix=the%2BIbanez%2BMikro%2Caps%2C103&sr=8-1&th=1
  19. It’s a thick, gnarly, and harmonically rich fuzz … Based on the Tall Font Green Russian/ Civil War Muff circuit … So strong with that mix friendly mid character, and retaining the low end that makes this particular Muff so bass-friendly. This one is indeed bass friendly. There’s something more to this pedal though. The secret sauce is in the tone sweep. As DBA put it … “A specially designed multi-curve shaping filter which changes the timbre of the pedal from super deep bass sludge to screaming highs”. This makes for something more versatile than your average 3-knob Muff, sure. It’s killler. Plenty love for it out there anyway. Check the reviews. 20. Beautifully crafted delay pedal from Walrus Audio, tactile, with a really intuitive control set … feature rich, but simple to use. It’s a piece of kit that invites creativity. Works very well with bass guitar. No mud at all. The quality in this pedal is obvious to the ear … But hey, there are many fine words about the Arp87 around internetland if you do some trawling. Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ postage is included in price (UK only). TRADE OPTIONS * : Dunlop DVP4 Mini MXR Bass Envelope Filter EBOW Plus ( * cash adjustment as necessary)
  21. One of the harder to find pedals from the increasingly collectible 7 Series Tonelok range. It’s an excellent phaser for bass, with a wide array of control options that allow you to the scope to craft a useable mix-friendly phase tone. The effect operates at unity, with no lift nor drop in volume, and no loss of low end whatsoever. Though fundamentally a phaser, the PM7’s modulation capabilities can extend to territories way beyond the norm. The control set achieves the following … Speed: adjusts the speed of the vibrations. They become faster the more this is turned to the right. Depth: adjusts the depth of the vibrations. They become deeper the more this is turned to the right. Manual: Adjusts the level of the phase-shifted tone. The level is increased and the effect strengthened the more this is turned to the right. Feedback: Adjusts the amount of feedback. Turning this to the right applies normal-phase feedback, and turning it to the left applies inverted-phase feedback. In either case, the sound will become more distinctive. Mode 1/2/3: Selects from three types of phases … - 4-stage phaser with invertedphase mix. Vintage sound. - 6-stage phaser with invertedphase mix. Deep phasing sound. - 6-stage phaser with normal-phasemix. Deep phasing sound. Waveform: Selects the modulation waveform (the "shape" of modulation). - Triangle wave: Produces conventional phaser sounds. - Square wave. Produces step-sequencer-like sounds. - High-frequency wave. Produces sounds like a ring modulator or FM synthesizer. The Ibanez 7 Series pedals are the bomb. The Maxon engineers were thinking outside the box, to be sure. Have a listen to the opinion of Josh Scott (JHS) about this. Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ postage is included in price (UK only). TRADE OPTIONS * : Dunlop DVP4 Mini MXR Bass Envelope Filter EBOW plus ( * cash adjustment as necessary)
  22. If you like drones, long, Indefinitely held notes or passages, to sculpt, build and move between layers, morph ambient textures … in their own right, to solo over, or to underpin a multi layer bass part … Then one of these is worth looking at. It does everything the Freeze does, but so much more. Most notable for me was its own effects loop, and the possibilities for signal chain placement and the potentially endlessly added depths to the frozen effect that the loop affords, whilst keeping your realtime bass licks otherwise unaffected, if so desired. The options and degree of functionality are wild. It’s an extremely versatile and powerful creative tool that opens a world of musical possibilities. Check out the YouTube bass demos, and EHX product info … It’s deep. I must say … I love this pedal, and wouldn’t be selling it had I not recently acquired a Superego + Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ postage is included in price (UK only). 23. Second rehearsal with the new live electronica project coming this week. Session one was an eye opener for the overall sound I need and it’s let me cut the board back quite a lot… way too much stuff that got in the way of the keys. For the first time in ages I’ve put the PT Jr Max aside and downsized to a PT Classic 1. I expect a pedal or two to get swapped about over coming weeks, but the core feels solid. Worth noting that at no point during this do I have a clean bass tone. The OC2 is always on as a minimum.

  25. Cheerfully arranged the sale of a microphone, and speedily dispatched it. He also included the microphone clip too. What a guy!!
