Mickeyboro Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Have you ever been in a band with someone so publicity-shy they don’t even want to be introduced to the audience? Asking for an anonymous friend…😁 2 1 Quote

I played in a band where the drummer was Lenny Tench (real name Dave Pittard). He was always Lenny Tench as far as the general public were concerned, but Dave to his friends. Seems the solution to go for. 2 Quote

Mykesbass Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I quite fancy a stage name, and think towns and villages are a good source. If I was funky enough it would be Rufus Stone, but when the Americana band I'm now in gets gigging I think I'll become Clent Hills. 1 Quote

I think you have an idea for an awesome new thread there Gladys. 2 Quote

If I needed a stage name I'd call myself Barton Stacey, after the village down the road from me. 1 Quote
lozkerr Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago We all adopted stage names for the punk band - Annie Hilation, Jude Struction, Laura van Detta and Sara Macarra ('macarra' is a Spanish word for a thug). Fitted the vibe very nicely. 3 Quote
Steve Browning Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I've mentioned this before. When I first joined the MU, you could join using your stage name. This was in the late 70's, and they also produced a local directory, listing the various members by instrument and stage name. The Portsmouth directory of the time listed the bass playing occupant of 14 Highfield Avenue, Waterlooville as Jaco Pastorius. I cannot understand how I managed to join with that name, but there it was. 2 3 Quote

lowdown Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I have a Guitarist friend who I have known for years. For a very long time he has been known as 'Dank Foreskins'. It's actually an anagram of his name. 1 Quote

SteveXFR Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I don't see the point of introducing band members. As a punter, I don't care that Bill is on drums unless its Bill Ward. No one in the audience is paying attention to the introductions or is interested. 1 Quote
