Just buy a 2 bass stand and it won't take up much more room than a single. Job done and you'll have 2 lovely basses to stare at when telly is crap. Personally speaking, bass isn't my main occupation but I play in 4 different bands who all play slightly different styles plus I occasionally dep / do sessions so my 10 for me is *high end acceptable*. True, but golfers would never use just one club and very few (if any) painters would ever use just one brush. A better comparison would be with a pro orchestral player - do they have more than one violin, cello or trumpet? And there are pro and amateur players who are also collectors and investors. And collectors and investors who don't play at all. And I bet there are pros who just use one bass and amateurs who have large collections. I currently have the 10basses i listed earlier but most were either special birthdays (50th) or Xmas pressies from my wife and i wouldn't get rid of those particulat ones. My PJ i bought for a specific band i was in but its a nice all rounder and a keeper. I am not a pro or even class myself as an amatuer altho i do gig every 4-6 weeks or will do once my current Glam Rock band is ready. I'm not a fanatic to gig every week because its mainly a hobby to play bass. If you consider them tools, you probably won't want to have 20 to take care of. I'm a professional in as much as I make my living playing in a function band, I would have more than 20 if I could, but I can't imagine I'd ever need more than two basses for my current gig. Linus27 Posted August 7, 2018 Share Posted August 7, 2018 Well this year I have 111 gigs booked and no doubt a few more will be added so my 5 basses and 1 Uke bass get a lot of use. I do tend to stick with two main basses, either my 75 AVRI Jazz and my Mike Dirnt Precision and then my 70 FSR Precision as my on stage back up. Just occasionally though I might play something different as the main like the Stingray, 66 RI Jazz or even the 70 FSR Precision, just to give them some use and as a bit of variety. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Dave My Spector NS2's get a lot of love - they just feel and sound perfect to me. I'd use my Spectors for everything if I could (and they'd nail them all) but I take the projects I do seriously in looks and sound so Lizzy tribute gets P basses, Hair Rock covers gets Hamers/Jacksons etc, 80's hi-fi pop gets Wals, disco functions get J bass etc etc 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
