A band from the Liverpool area who were living and gigging here in the nineties introduced me to their music. The impossible dream, Sahb stories and ofc the Live album are still among my favourites. [/quote] SAHB records were released by Vertigo in Holland so there must have been a few fans out there! I was 15, it was my first major rock festival. Uriah Heep topped the bill, but there was Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Gary Moore. Can't remember who else. I missed the last train home and slept outside Fenchurch Street Station with the winos. They opened with the Osmonds' 'Crazy Horses' as I recall. SAHB, not the winos. Pretty well unknown at that point but they were on Old Grey Whistle Test a short while afterwards (Next and Faith Healer) and became a big name act. I became a bit of a fan - saw them numerous times, including SAHB without Alex. I place Chris Glen in my top 10 bass players as I think he has a great feel for what he does. Alex Harvey's song writing was fantastic (sometimes almost unhinged, checkout Shake that thing) and there stage presence was amazing and he told a really good story. Zal didn't think he could fit in it anymore I think they are still playing aren't they? Anyway the title track from there best Album in my humble opinion. [/quote]i remember seeing a blues band play in a pub in Dartford Kent about 20 yrs ago, it was all eyes on the bassist, yep, Chris Glen, i didn't know who he was at the time but he played like a demon. All of that underpinned by Zal Cleminson's incredible guitar playing. Dave [/quote] Then It's a shame you're in Lanark Dave, as I managed to persuade my lot to do it, and it's now one of the most popular songs in our set. We do have a fiddle instead of keys but it works ok. Recording it live this Thurs too! SAHB's was certainly the best version imho, Alex bought menace to it.
