Happy Jack
He encore'd with Bye Bye Johnny. Wilko: "I said Byyyyye, bye bye bye!" He waves to 2000 people. 2000 people: "We say Byyyyye, bye bye bye!!!" We all wave to Wilko. Lump in my throat? Not 'arf. Bloody hell, what a way to go though ...

Bigjas
I saw him at Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms a couple of weeks ago, don't think there was a dry eye in the place when he was playing Bye Bye Johnny. It was a cracking gig/performance and leaves me with very good memories of him. Jas
Rumple
There's a short interview over on the BBC R2 web site worth a listen if you didn't hear it when it went out live http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p015x8xt

Happy Jack
Love him - and his bass player!
They must have really, really good air-con on stage at Koko. I can't remember how many times I've seen Norm play, but this was definitely the first where he wasn't spraying sweat across the first few rows of the audience. In fact, there wasn't even a puddle of sweat for him to drop his lead into at the end of the gig. Edited March 7, 2013 by Happy Jack

Silvia Bluejay
I'm working on last night's photos as we speak. It was an awesome gig, full of energy, a finger raised defiantly at cancer and death, with the entire audience supporting him on every note. He had Alison Moyet as a special guest on vox for a couple of numbers during the encore, then he decided to change a string to his guitar on stage in front of us, as the replacement guitar was set up wrongly and had given out horrid feedback - drums and bass kept playing throughout - and it was all a good laugh as well as poignant. When he left the stage for the last time I felt the reality of it hitting me. But, as Jack said, what a way to go. \m/ \m/ Edited March 7, 2013 by bluejay

The way that Wilko feels about Mick Green's playing and influence is exactly the way all the guys in my band feel about Wilko! We were honoured to have supported him on the Oil City Confidential tour in 2010 and will be sharing the stage with him on Friday at Holmfirth. My hopes are that it will be a great gig and that Wilko can stay well and pain free for as long as possible.

I saw the band supporting the Stranglers last year (maybe the year before?) anyway both were awesome. What a way to bring your life to a close, by entertaining your fans and enjoying life to the utmost. Wilco I take my had off to you.

4 Strings
I'm glad the farewell is doing him proud. Would have loved to have gone to one, just so pleased to have seen him at the gigs I have. I'll really miss him and Norman. I wonder if Norman has any plans.
