It is a bit pretty for sure. I think a certain personoftyne may like this one! Shudder to think what Fender will charge for it, mind. Edit: MRSP is $4200, which is about £2600.
How right you are!

Saw this the other day. Want it. So badly.

In fact, the more I look at it, the more I just have to have one. Damn you for posting it - I'd almost forgotten about it.

The thing is, Badass aside, this is EXACTLY what I would have come up with had Fender ever asked me to do a signature model (which happens a lot in my dreams). It's uncanny.
It's damn close to my dream bass too. Except I would dump the J and have it in CAR with a matching headstock and a mint plate.
Its beautiful but id rather a G&L 30th anniversary L2000 myself :)
Features include an alder body, lightly tinted quartersawn maple neck with a 1960s Jazz Bass® U shape, rosewood fingerboard with 10” radius and 20 medium jumbo frets, Jazz Bass pickup in the 1970s Precision Bass position, three-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, Badass™ bridge, vintage-style paddle tuners, black hard-shell case and certificate of authenticity.
Help me out here... is this just Fender's attention to detail again or have I slept through an entire model line?

Trust me, THIS has GOT to be where Fender got the idea to make this bass. I contacted them 2 years ago and suggested they consider releasing the Fender "Carl Radle" Tribute Precision Bass, but they acted as though they were not interested at that time. Remove that Jazz pickup and THIS is what they are marketing here. Not a doubt in my mind:

I have to say though that it sure looks like one sweet axe!

Hello Dan!

Carl's bass is a beauty, but between the J pup, badass and lack of glittery headstock, it doesn't have much else in common with the new CS... I think a bass with the above spec has been on the wish-list of many players for a while now.
