1.
I'll bite..........have you got a weight for it? lol Looks lovely though! Si
Fat lass, 10.4lbs on the scales.
why does the passiveness annoy you? not enuf output?
Dont know really. The pups on this are hot (tech from shop confirmed this 2 days ago) but to be honest, i play in a 5 piece band and to cut through i need the sound to be active. I bought a G&L tribute 2000 yesterday and the sound is just, err, more "right". For me anyway. I cant afford to be a collector, so, maybe i have to move it on. It does make it hard when everyone is saying how nice it is. But i cant just leave it hanging there.
  2. No-one biting at the mo, things must be tight. Re-price £1400 * I aint goin' lower.* I have had this guitar since 2002. Has been gigged tons by me, as you will see in the pictures this has not been stuck on the wall for years, but has been doing what it was designed to do - be played. Shes a real beaut to play, lovely playable neck a real good slapper. As far as i am aware, and i am no collector of these things so my knowledge is poor, i have no reason to believe that this is not 100% original. As you can see by the paintwork, that certainly is. The paintwork, since i have had it has been like this. Mojo'd/ugly bastard, you can decide. It does not just peel off. It comes with the original fluffy lined hard case. If you would like to know more, please ask. Anyone would be welcome to come and have a look/try. Now, the price. This is worth what someones willing to pay i guess, so i am asking £1700. No rules broken, no auction here, feel free to offer below this, I live in Portsmouth and, so if you want to give it a going over you can find the bass here.
  3. *sits here like cat licking own arse* Cheers mate Great bass.
  4.
Anyone for £635?
Pm'd
  5.
Was the harness changed for a new one at the same time as the pickups then?
No it wasnt. As far as i know apart from the new pups, its original.
  6. The bass has had this issue with both the original and new pups in it. so i would have thought that would suggest somthing else being the cause of lack of volume/output. I relly would like a j-retro, as i like an active sound, but just the cost at the moment- could do with trying to sort this the cheapest way. I think i am looking for more output from the bass.
  7.
You say 'across all the strings' - Does that mean you are finding an uneven volume between strings?
Yeah, the C & D strings just dont have the volume power of the Icon series. I was thinking, newer technology would improve the fender. I love playing the fender, ive had it for years, so how do i know if its a pile of poo? I want to believe that its electronics. Would changing the resistors increase output, or am i looking at this the wrong way round/
  8. I have 2 basses at the moment. 1) A 78' fender jazz fretted, as far as i know original except for wizard pickups i had installed. (still have the original ones though). 2) A vintage icon series (jaco copy) fretless Can i ask for some opinions as to why the latter has a more powerful sound across the 4 strings. I am finding myself using this one all the time now. And unusually people are commenting that the jaco copy sounds better. Guitarist in my band has suggested changing the resistors in the fender. Should i drop in a j-east retro? Any advice welcome.
  9. Are you open to trade? Genz shuttle 3.0 + £90 from my end. Cheers.
  10.
Oooh. Quite fancy one of these again but trying to slim down to buy a house! I wonder if i should sell my beloved LH500..? Hmmm.
I was going to get rid of this for an LH500! Got a Genz shuttle 3.0 instead. Can you believe i have to tape it down when in use! Going from 20+kgs to 1kgs is quite a difference and looks quite rediculous with my 6x10 cab.
  11. Got a new amp so i would like to move on my old one. Its been used in pubs a lot, but has always been been encased/racked. It works absolutely fine and pushes out a lot of power, although i have only driven it at 2ohm loads a few times. 275w @ 8ohms 440w @ 4ohms 650w @ 2ohms The only issue with it (which is a non issue if you use it correctly) is that you cannot allow the clip light to be on more often than not as it engages the protection curcuit and cuts out for a few seconds. It says this in the instructions booklet. In the real world, i keep the input gain down low (just under the clip light) and have dont have any problems. It has a valve emulation curcuit, warmth control(cuts mids),on board comp, gain boost, semi para EQ, 3 band EQ, DI out with signal control, effects loop, tuner out, footswitch (for mute and edge control) 2 speakon outputs and 2 jack outs. I am based in Portsmouth, but work in Reading I will post but prefer to deal face to face. 12. I am getting rid of my Nemesis na650. Might be able to do something.
  13. Genz-benz shuttle 3.0 PROS: I have got one. Unbelievably small and light!! CONS: Wish i got this ages ago. Previous amps: trace ah350smx, Gk400rb, Eden Nemesis NA650. The Eden has powered an NV610 cab for the past 8 months. The GB makes the cab sound better. Gigged it last night and got one setting and it stayed like that the whole night. Just had to use my tone control on the bass to get the sounds that i wanted-Believe me this is unheard of. If you are considering one of these-STOP-get one.
  14.
right, parties over and i'm back 3 interested parties in the amp, Alan P was the first to PM. but initial idea was to trade, gonna wait a bit on that before selling, and of course i'd like to be sure both amp and cab go, so still need some interest in the schroeder.
Im out mate. Commited to another amp now. But great price on yours indeed fella.
  15. Ok, i am playing in Chichester tonight, at the fountain. Can i get it today? Regards, Chris.
  16. Please stop putting pics up. This is making me want to rob my nan to get the money together. Please stop.
