I reckon the paint job on my guitar was made for your band. Or maybe youve owned it before and your band created my crazed effect!! You wont be seen on TOTP anytime soon.
 2.
You could try Joe White 01252 520911 near Aldershot. He refinished my 1959 P bass, (see the picture on the left, and yes it is a real 59)
How bad was the original?? Do you regret having it done?
 3.
Can't believe no-ones pulled your arm off for this. Bump.
+1, i would have it if it was not for the fact that you are just under 1000000 miles away!
 4. Can someone help me find a good guitar painter to refin my guitar.
 5. That is a nicer finish. Are the necks of these things normally wenge? I had one and always thiught it was wenge neck and fretboard. Are you giving it up then? Dont say your going to the 6 string spotlight hugger!
 6. I suppose it was you that bought the roscoe bass? I was dreaming of that bass in MY arms. What a loverly creature it is.
 7.
Anyway, don't refin it, just get a new body and swap all the hardware. The colour is fiesta red, in addition mine had be hung in a shop window for ages till it went lighter, the original fingerboard had gone pretty much grey.
What is your bass? That headstock is a head turner. Is it a frankenstien lefty neck right body thingy?
 8.
im looking around the 1000 mark, nothing too high in the price range but a nice bass and nice sound.
Dont know what this sounds like, but it does look great! 9.
I think it looks awesome, and I will cheerfully trade you my salmon pink 'custom' jazz for it. Its like a crackle finish without being 80s and something that Shockwave would buy.
definatly the coulour im after, but i also love block inlays and bound necks. Thanks for your generous offer though my friend.
 10.
I had a Fender Lead II (bought from a mate from my local pub for £25) made in the early 80s that had the same black/crazed finish - IIRC I was told at the time that Fender had to stop using nitro because of all the fumes being pumped out of the factory, and the finish was an early poly that didn't work too well I stripped off the bits that didn't just fall off and oiled/waxed it, sold on ebay a year later for £200
nice work fella
 11.
That's the first time I've ever seen scariasis of the bass. Have you checked the neck pocket, to see if there are traces of other colours? Has the bass been in a really humid environment?
I feel like im on embarrassing illnesses for bass! will check bass for other colours, maybe it has at some point been mistreated by previous owners.
 12. Can anyone stop me from doing this? The paintwork on my jazz is as far as i am aware original and it looks like the timber has over the years swollen and dried out, and the result is that the paint has cracked and pretty much webbed all over. I love the 78 jazz look, (although black is not my fravorite colour) so when tempted to change the bass i always back out. So i reckon what i need is to spruce it up with a damn good paint job. Anyone seen MarloweDKs salmony red colour (dont know the actual colour) jazz? Well i think thats what i want. This will keep me happy for a while at least, cant stop the GAS urge. So if you look at my guitar i would like to know other peoples views to why i should or should not go for it. What are the pros and cons? Why would this guitar be more desirable with the original cracked paint? If i do go through with this where can i get it done? While i am at it, how can i tell if the bass is 100% original. I have owned this bass for 7 years now, ihave the original hardcase and have just assumed that it is all original. 17. As the outgoing bassist of this band i would like to elaborate on what you have said Carl. This is a wicked band to be in, the only reason i am leaving is to be able to spend more time with my very young family. The music this band plays is great bands like the jam, stranglers, bowie, clash, reef, k. chiefs, and loads more. A real mixed bag of good stuff. With and without me this band really goes down well when we play. If you want to be in a very good covers band that gigs on a yearly average, id say once a week;- and get paid for it then speak up. Ive had a great two and a half years with this these guys! I will be in the band till these guys find someone so if your intersted in seeing the band with me in it give carl a buzz, we play all over the hants area but also in surrey, sussex, bucks im sure we will play somewhere near you.
