1.
The great thing about forums is the new things you learn , The Beatles ? Never heard of them I'll check them out. Out
Have a quick look on you tube - I'm sure you'll find something there. BTW, be careful with your spelling. I once typed in The Rutles by mistake - didn't seem to matter - appears to be the same band.
2.
Anything made by Roland/Boss is usually insanely hardwearing. I'd get a Cube if I were you.
I have the 20XL and it is great little practice amp and built like a tank. No vibration issues whatsoever. Some great built in features as well which is a welcome bonus.
3. I'm really enjoying this thread. I amuse myself occasionally on a gig by playing the bass line from Another Brick in the Wall throughout Anastasia's Left Outside Alone.
4. ^^^^ Stunning!!! That is all. ^^^^
5. Have a look on the 'north west bands' site and post a bass player available ad. Some open mic nights also posted on there on the community blog.
6.
https://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_premium_gigbag_e_bass_br.htm I've had these well over a year and they are unmarked so I'd say they are hardwearing. The price is amazing and don't believe these are cheap crap... far from it.
Couldn't agree more - bought one of these following many recommendations in another thread on here. Had mine for around 9 months now and no issues. Highly recommended.
7.
Harley Benton HB550fl deko - £46 all in delivered.
I bought the fretted version for the same price and it is a cracking bass. We both got massive bargains with these.
8. Had a card through the door when I got home from work - tried to deliver but signature required. Bugger! It'll cost me more than the purchase price in fuel to go and collect it.....grumble grumble! Miserable set of b'stards aren't we lol
9. Like it- good work that man! Very striking!
10. In that case I'm gonna send mine back to that same old place, sweet home Chicago!
11. I've had emails and a tracking notification. They're on their way guys. Shipped on the 9th from Chicago.
12. Fender 8250 sets have a tapered B & E. They are nickel plated steel. Came with my Fender Jazz deluxe that I used to own. Liked them a lot.
13.
Plus an email saying my 50cm Faux fur clip on animal tail has been dispatched from eBay, but that's probably for another topic
This topic needs its own thread immediately if you would be so kind!
14. I love the tone Pete Way gets from his Thunderbird - just sounds so right.
15.
I sometimes play with a pick
Do you play with the same drummer as I do .......oh wait........ You sometimes play with a pick.
16. Maybe they want to gig this song but their previous bassist wasn't up to it?
17.
I misread. Thought you said 'Double Bass Wanted For Fire'!
Nope - that will be the gig planned for 5th November!
18.
Blue, a good place to start with ex-Bonzo's would be Neil Innes' work helping to create The Rutles. Also, as you've said you love British humour, then The Rutles film is a must see!! http://www.rutles.org http://youtu.be/fJqp_KvOHts
Oh dear.....you're playing with fire here showing him the British institution that is The Rutles. Let's hope he doesn't find the full length version or we're all in for it!
19. Took advantage of the free offer (yes, I'm cheap). Looking forward to reading it. Thanks for the promotion!
20.
Get rid.. you'll drive yourself crazy otherwise... Have you recorded him playing at a rehearsal? Always an interesting experience..
Agreed - it's delaying the inevitable. I went through this recently and since we replaced the old drummer with our new one it's a totally different band. EVERYTHING has improved musically and there is now no negative vibe that existed before. In fact we didn't know how much the whole band was affected until he left. New guy is a breathe of fresh air.
21. No problem - please let us know how you get on and don't forget the pics or it didn't happen lol
