1. The 25th Anniversary/Reflex HSS has the rear humbucker closer to the bridge than the sweet-spot.
2. Damn & blast.....my bass with the bubinga body, rosewood neck, ivory fret markers and unicorn horn nut will be relegated to bedroom duties if this comes into force!
3. Just received a haze machine (and fluid) from Mat who packed it to within an inch of it's life. As others have said, a pleasure to do business with. Thanks Mat.
4. My band is having a Christmas do tonight - the only night in the year where we get to go out together and have a few beers. Going watching a local band (like you do). I'll check if the bassist is on BC.
5. The nut may be cut too deep on the E string- worth checking.
6. I also cannot see this as an upgrade - just different. Personally I'm very happy with my 2012 Jazz with the CS pups and for me the change wouldn't suit. I'm currently looking at getting a Precision but the American Standard is my first choice. The prices of the professional series are just daft.
7. Off to see Ocean Colour Scene tonight in Manchester.
8. Don't have a clue which venue it is but those were the days when monitors were MONITORS.
9. You can alway tell if they're on here as they will have Barefaced cabs or a Flea Jazz Bass.
10. I keep coming back in here for a sneaky little peak. Looks absolutely stunning. My Oly White Jazz had better not find out. GLWTS
11. I'd like to see the White SR5 with a black pickup cover, maple board and black neck binding!
12. Darwen is an example whic springs to mind - just outside Blackburn. Always something going on there.
13. I put mine up for sale a couple of times when I needed the money but couldn't go through with it. Found another way to plug the financial gap. Very special instrument. Great build quality and stunning to look at. GLWTS.
14.
I'm sure they are, but anything can happen. OP - get your money back, and walk away.
Indeed- I'm sure PMT are fine but I remember their stores being Sound Control who also seemed to be stable. Just a precaution - money back so you can spend it where you like - even a non-musically related activity should you wish.
15. Get a full cash refund. We've seen plenty of examples of stores closing in recent years and vouchers/credit being worthless.
16. Enjoy the wait - the anticipation is part of the fun - and you've got six months of anticipation you lucky so & so. If it helps, I was playing my Stingray HH this evening at a rehearsal and it sounded immense! I'm not helping am I?

Anyone got any tips as to the best eq settings? Also neck or bridge pickup or a combination? Whenever I try the technique it just sounds awful. Ta very muchly.
18. I'll bring my Musicman 25th Anniversary and Stingray HH along with my Genz Benz STL9.0 and Berg HD210's
19. Funkgod Lurksalot - Spector Euro4 , Spector Legend4, TC RH750 , TC RS212 & RS210 Mr Zed
20. Hi - is this a Highway One model? Doesn't look like an American Standard.
21. I'm very precious about all my gear (and other cherished possessions). I work hard for my money and enjoy the pride of ownership having something nice brings. I never play my basses in a buttoned shirt and a belt is always covered by a tee shirt for fear of scratches. My basses stay in their hard cases when not being used and come out at the last minute on a gig. It is the first thing packed away at the end of the night. I treat other people's gear in the same way - with respect. I'm THAT guy I'm afraid. I love the road worn look on a bass if it is intended to look that way. I'd be gutted if I put extra damage on a road worn instrument as it's not supposed to be there. Some may say OCD but I think I suffer from CDO. This is similar to OCD but worse as I struggle that the letters are not in the right order.
22.
There are degrees from universities and 'degrees' from 'universities'.
Indeed - I spent 4 years of my life studying for an MBA with the Open University Business School whilst working in a full-time role. I was committed to 20 hours study time per week, studying at the weekend, sometimes throughout the night, on family holidays etc - it was a real challenge. Now the OUBS is very well regarded and their MBA programme is triple accredited however it is not one of the top business schools. When a new manager started with our organisation, we got talking and the subject came up. "Where did you study for your MBA"? "Open University". " Oh right - very good. Have you been in prison?" Still not sure if he was joking or not!
23. Have a listen to Within Temptation's version of Radioactive (Imagine Dragons cover) and their version of Titanium. Faster is also a cracker & one of their own.
