  1. That was a top quality day out! Getting to see Santana and Clapton with my Dad was pretty special 😁
  2. Yeah, 210 is very thick - but I appreciate the tech that makes it possible. If I got one I would definitely investigate an octave circuit built in as I can definitely see that being useful for noodling, especially since it could have a built in headphone amp.
  3. Well yes, but these can be had cheaper than $1400. But even if these $200 you could get a normal bass for cheaper. I just find the technology and design going into these wee basses interesting and fun! 😁
  4. And here you go. It works. I'm not sure how, but that sounds like a bass to me. Headphones recommended. Edit: the bass is also in drop D.
  5. I guess this good thing about not being 100% sure about limited edition finishes is that you should be able to pass it on to someone else fairly easily @sirmuppet
  6. I completely appreciate and understand your opinion, but this bass wasn't made to impress you or anyone else really, apart from John Myung 😅
  7. So I've been keeping my eye on these as I think they could be a great tool. I've asked if they think they could put in an octave circuit so when plugged in you could have it sounding like a normal bass, they said it could be done. But now Kemp Strings have gotten involved. They did some very fancy research about lumping and make the best sounding strings, and he has made a set of strings that sound at normal pitch on a 16" scale. The E is 210... Haven't seen a video but if they say it works, it will probably work!
  8. Yeah, you might as well throw the money down the toilet. That's a big ol' scam.
  9. So...buy a normal Bongo This isn't made to sell loads - it's to show off what EBMM can do when asked and to show what John asked of them.
  10. The guys presenting style is a bit stiff, but he goes through a lot of affordable models and he thinks this a great bass. Skip to 1:45 for playing.
  11. I'm pretty sure this was discussed a while back when Yamaha did a live stream. Miki plays in the style of Flea and liked the active Flea signature, Yamaha wanted him to keep playing Yamaha so made him that bass as a one off. Don't see it being a production model.
  12. It's a no for me but it's interesting to see Ernie Ball really entering the signature model game. Yes they will be overpriced but at least they aren't just standard models in a particular finish, they seem to have original features that are actually designed for the artist.
  13. I'm the same, had the choice between the new and older shape. Went new shape as apparently the balance is better but I'm sure the quality is the exactly the same. Great P Bass alternative.
  14. What shape is yours @stewblack? If it is the same as the current shape then yeah, that's confusing but if it's the older more traditional P shape then they must have done them in burst but not the new shape
  15. I'll second that - I picked one up the other week and going between that and my recently finished Bronco project the Electra feels so much nicer. I am tempted to get a Humbucker and make it a proper VM4 but it's great for now!
  16. Nice haul! I own a Vista Musicmaster which has quadrupled in value since I got it as my first bass in 2002ish. I remember playing one of those tele basses in a shop, pretty sure they used that pickup in a Mustang too. I liked it so much I emailed Fender asking if I could buy, alas no dice. Enjoy mate!
  17. I've found that if something fails to be delivered for whatever reason on the first try the tracking systems go into meltdown and then suddenly it's out for delivery and arrives. It is a first world problem, but waiting on new toys is always annoying!
  18. Still really enjoying my Electra VS4, would love a tort guard though. Does anyone have an email address for Sandberg? Or am I just as well going through a dealer to get to them?
  19. Pink is the new black 😅 looking forward to seeing what you're making though. I was so surprised how evenly and how accurate the colour of the Montana was, I just picked it up as it was close to the colour I wanted and it was cheap. I think I will need a poly coat. Noticed one hit chipped off already.
  20. Meant to say, the Pick clip has tone full up and tone full down if that's not immediately obvious, 😁
  21. My most recent mini-project stage 1 completed the other day. Bronco painted Shell Pink - Cheap rail pickup - Squier standard tuners added. Still planning to put a humbucker at the bridge at some point....Happy for now
  22. Here's some sound samples @Si600, apologies for the sloppiness, I blame playing zingy rounds after a long time on tapewounds 😬 Bronco Pick.mp3 Bronco Slap.mp3 Bronco Tone Off.mp3 Bronco Tone Up.mp3
  23. DId you ask for a photo of the neck pocket *runs* 😬
  24. Since you are in Fife - give GuitarGuitar Glasgow a phone. They order in their own spec of Sandberg as well as standard stuff so they will be able to help you out with it.
  25. Another fitting name would be Serendipity - I know most things will be standard size but it's fun to hear how parts just drifted together and look exactly like they were meant to be there Enjoy!
