  1. Yeah signature model was the wrong term, custom one off is more accurate!
  2. So...the Miki signature model is basically the same as the newest Flea signature model but in the BB Shape. Interesting.
  3. Ah, the bass I have owned twice and sold twice....stupidly. Bloody great fun and as always, Yamaha quality. Might have to try and hunt one down.
  4. Not mine but just spotted this on Bass Direct From Dave from Chas 'n' Dave https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Fender_American_Vintage_58_Precision_Bass_Roasted_Ash.html?fbclid=IwAR1kvwiWoHjFyfaKNSVGNA_HDKZ5i_d_N5jAb1c_7otxR7qYngMQqIGwnJg
  5. I appreciate it is fixable but returns also give useful feedback for manufacturers on new products. I would hope it doesn't happen to others but at least if Ibanez are aware that it has happened they might be able to address it on the production line.
  6. Oh wow. Since it wasn't/can't be hung you can't account it to the weight there. Remember when GAK said something about the QC of these basses....
  7. Sold elsewhere, please close 😊
  8. That's a bit nice!
  9. For sale is my Zoom B1Xon multi effects. Only selling as its been replaced by a B3. Excellent condition and only ever been used in the house. Great for mucking about with and useful as a headphone practice amp. Also got the box somewhere and I'll throw in a USB lead and power adapter. Say £5 for postage if you aren't nearby.
  10. I've never played one either but I trust that if luthiers like ACG and others offer short scale 5s, it must work. Could be down to strings and tension, heard good things about Newton who will do custom balanced gauges and will probably be happy to answer queries about short scale B strings.
  11. Just bought a red Squier Bronco as a project and going to paint it Shell Pink. Would love to relic it similar to this. Not quite to this degree but I don't want to do a poor job and make it look odd. Decisions, decisions....
  12. Funny how they didn't try and get one after he did his Jazz Bass, and then went on to make a jazz bass with a stingray/lane poor pickup. Must just not be part of the business model just now 🤷‍♂️
  13. Yes, that is weird....surely just get rid of the control plate
  14. Now as we know, there are hunners of Musicman signature guitar models - but the bass side has always been pretty limited for signature models. There was the Joe Dart one last year and now this Mike Herrera (punk rock singer/bassist for MxPx - no, me neither) https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2020/06/10/ernie-ball-music-man-unveils-mike-herrera-stingray-bass/ So what do we think about Ernie Ball coming round to bass signature models? Couldn't care less? Will be cool to see what features they are willing to do for artists as the basses themselves are pretty widely used. Tim Commerford would be cool....
  15. Thanks for the advice. I've repainted bodies before but always stripped it back. Probably won't bother this time! I'll be painting the wee Bronco (not the Musicmaster) Shell pink so I'll just key up the red and go at it!
  16. I've got a Squier VM Fretless. For a first time fretlesser it's ideal. I got mine for £120 off Facebook.
  17. Ah OK, gotcha! Complete strip it is!
  18. Hopefully a straightforward one, you see all these reliced/vintage Fender types that have say black under gold or sunburst under white. To do this yourself is it simply a case of taking the clear coat off the base colour and using that as the primer rather than a grey or white primer? Ta!
  19. Sandberg bargain alert! Very tempted but just can't afford it 😅
  20. Couldn't resist as it's sitting in the living room for once. Toyed with selling and getting a 435 for the slightly smaller body, but it looks so good 😍
  21. Or do I go cheap and cheerful and go with a big ol set of Rails at the bridge with another rail in the normal position
  22. Excellent, thanks for the measurements!
  23. Thanks! I'll measure that out and see if I need anything else.
  24. Further to this - planning to find a humbucker that I can wire series/parallel and only have that on a rotary switch and a tone control. No volume. Is this doable and any specific pickups that people can recommend? Thought about the Kent Armstrong MM4
  25. Could @anzoid or @scrumpymike please measure the pickup location? Planning a BroncoRay build and need to know if this is a viable idea 😉
