  1. I've got a Squier VM Fretless. For a first time fretlesser it's ideal. I got mine for £120 off Facebook.
  2. Ah OK, gotcha! Complete strip it is!
  3. Hopefully a straightforward one, you see all these reliced/vintage Fender types that have say black under gold or sunburst under white. To do this yourself is it simply a case of taking the clear coat off the base colour and using that as the primer rather than a grey or white primer? Ta!
  4. Sandberg bargain alert! Very tempted but just can't afford it 😅
  5. Couldn't resist as it's sitting in the living room for once. Toyed with selling and getting a 435 for the slightly smaller body, but it looks so good 😍
  6. Or do I go cheap and cheerful and go with a big ol set of Rails at the bridge with another rail in the normal position
  7. Excellent, thanks for the measurements!
  8. Thanks! I'll measure that out and see if I need anything else.
  9. Further to this - planning to find a humbucker that I can wire series/parallel and only have that on a rotary switch and a tone control. No volume. Is this doable and any specific pickups that people can recommend? Thought about the Kent Armstrong MM4
  10. Could @anzoid or @scrumpymike please measure the pickup location? Planning a BroncoRay build and need to know if this is a viable idea 😉
  11. Afternoon all, I've finally found a Bronco that needs some love for a project that has been on my mind for a while. Ever since I saw the short scale Stingray I wanted one but don't have £600 currently free so, could I put a humbucker in the Stringray spot and get something similar? Would probably add a Stinger circuit to it too. What do we think?
  12. For anyone interested. Some very nice SGC for sale...
  13. Wow, they both look great. Don't imagine they'll be around long!
  14. I saw a couple of three for sale recently, around about the £500 second hand but how much are they new? No prices on the Facebook page and I am very much tire kicking at this point 😂
  15. For those with extended experience of the BB425 and BB735 - are the neck profiles the same? And which of the two do you find comfier to play? Obviously the old pickups have a certain something that some feel hasn't transferred to the new set up but from a comfort and feel, which do you prefer?
  16. Looks good in White Blonde too
  17. Further to this - since the 425 doesn't have a pickguard, any 425x or 1025x owners able to help with measurements etc? Ta!
  18. Hmmm, to put a tort pick guard on my cream 425... Could be fun.
  19. Definitely spoilt for choice just now aren't we! Hadn't looked at the Chowny site for a while and the new Trans Blue is 😍 it would probably be my pick of the short scales readily available just now.
  20. Julia making this sound pretty cool. And now I want one. Bother.
  21. Rapidly approaching the point in lockdown where I want to sell a bass just so I can buy a new toy 😂

I sold a car during the lock down, that's how I bought so many toys since 😛

Too much time spent at the computer, too many temptations...

  22. Probably less so now and everything is so standardised by CNC machines but there will be higher quality materials etc used between series hence the price difference.
  23. I got one of the 5 string versions at Deko pricing (about £75) when I wanted to see if I liked 5 strings after not having one for years. It was brilliant and only replaced as a Sub 5er came up at a stupid price. Only thing is the bridge is really far up the body so its a big bass.
  24. I'm intrigued by this style of learning but failed in finding out how much the $50 off the annual subscription actually equates to. If a member doesn't mind disclosing, how much is the annual subscriptions as it stands?
  25. Hmmm that's nice! Interesting to see them putting more premium features in this range. Will be interesting to see how these go, the appeal of these seems to be the low price and how well they do for that price.
