1. Death metal- death, morbid angel, carcass etc.
2. Thrash- to me, it had an urgency and musicality that glam never had IMO
3. With this hunk o junk, you could play the kessel run in record time
4. I'm using a mooer micro di at the mo to get the keys sound from my board to the pa. small and perfectly formed! it sounds good and has all the features you would expect from a di. Also has a handy speaker emulation which works really well. That can be found on eBay from around £45. It's also available with a fender logo for a little less
5. I saw Neil Murray gigging with Bernie marsden in the summer. He's still got it! One of my first truly inspirational players along with Steve Harris. Whilst we're talking about whitesnake, I didn't see if anyone had mentioned Colin hodgkinson. What a player!! Between whitesnake and back door there's a good bit of material out there. I'm encouraged to see mention of stu morrow. I spent a lot of time chatting with him when he was playing with slammer. Top dude, and really encouraging. Jim smith from cardiacs also gets a vote from me. The lines he plays fit beautifully into the eclectic arrangements of the bands music. I'm wondering whether Tim actually wrote the parts though. Either way the lines, and the tone from that Ricky really work well in the context
6. I ran the worship team in my church for 15 years. God called me out of the team about 3 years ago. The biggest thing I taught the team was about being yourself and not trying to reproduce slavishly what someone else has created. God made us who we are, and our purest worship comes from our connection with Him informing and leading us in bringing the congregation into the throne room. The 'top ten' above is a great manifesto
7. Presumably good for the (Han) solo
8. I'd have to move abroad though
9. No soldering at all. Spade connectors ftw! It took a grand total of 2 mins to install the new switch, and everything powers up perfectly, with none of the previous issues
10. That's right. Marshall no longer supply parts to the public. I would have to use one of their recommended repairers. Cue bill of £30-£40+ for something I can easily do my self!!!
11. After speaking to my local electrical supplier, I looked on the rs website. I entered what looked like a part number, I found the part I was looking for. £1.39 with free next day delivery plus vat if ordered online 😀 For future reference the rs number is 2284581
12. Cheers mate. It's 20.5 mm wide and 14 mm high
13. I'm having a problem with the power switch on my Marshall DBS 7400 head. There seems to be an issue getting the switch to work consistently. Marshall have now informed me that they can not supply me with the parts for health and safety reasons. Can anyone help me source a replacement? The switch looks like this The side of the switch has markings which include 250v~ac t100 10 (6)a 250vac 12a Cheers guys
14.
my latest board layout. Particularly enjoying the mike stand

16. This choice one from sabbath has to be a contender http://youtu.be/UbTR1-d2IDg
17. It might not be highbrow enough for some, but I love the chord movement in the intro to God gave rock and roll to you II by kiss
18. And megadeth- peace sells are both the ones that immediately sprang to mind http://youtu.be/aiQpRQeIiHY
19. Control denied- what if http://youtu.be/MP29i-XDjmA
20. Nice to see jimmy page keeping himself busy
21. I tried the bad when it came out. I heard a high pitched noise on the signal when engaged. It might have been a teething problem, but it was a deal breaker for me. I've been using the mxr black label chorus since it was released. That and the analog chorus are the same pedal, but with different paint jobs Unless I hear something extremely special, I won't be changing it out anytime soon
22. Boss ce5 and ceb3 Mxr black label/ analog chorus ( both the same pedal and allegedly a ce5 clone) Dod stereo bass chorus
