legal stunt
Is that rhyming slang?
Some Fakers have twin truss rods, my CMI did
Yeah I know, but were numerous threads on this years ago on RickResource - they do get a little hot under the collar about it. The twin truss-rods is just one of the things to look for. Simlarily a real Rick doesn't have binding around the back of the bridge area, there were at least a couple more that I don't remember; the real [s]anals[/s] experts on it could tell from the shape of the top horn & the headstock.

Liam Gallagher; by a very very long way.
Aw it's a damn shame that after logging 27 out of the 38 bids they eventually realised they couldn't afford it.
It's understandable though ain't it; I mean he's trying to put a depsoit on a house - or the other story is funding other gear........... no wait, that's the seller - not the bidder. Maybe he's trying to buy a phone-box to change identities in.
And what is that big fat arm covering up?
The back of the bridge where the binding on that one goes all the way around? It'd be easy enough to take a pic of the twin trussrods to prove it's genuine, without that pesky TRC getting in the way anyway.
Yeah s***w's bidding was looking dodgy the whole time... looks like they tried to push it once too many... shame. No doubt it will be back soon enough.
Poor Mr s****w. Lucky for him the seller was SO understanding that he just "couldn't afford it". http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/70s-Rickenbacker-4001-NaturalGlo-Bass-W-Hardcase-/330713386851?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DDLSL%252BSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BUA%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D330709997391%252B330709997391%26po%3D%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7508206615184067721

There are of course many BCers who endorse or who are sponsored by some manufacturers and naturally have alwys used their products anyway - hence the support. But equally there are artists who will agree to have their name used with a product, persumably take the wedge then carry on as they were. Tony Iommi springs to mind for the "authorised" custom SGs he's endorsed; while all the time turning up on stage with the "Old Boy". I was told at Marshall that that's one of the reasons they never give away any gear to any of their endorsed artists - they all pay for anything.

I really like the new one out by The Shins; but having checked it out on Youtube the video is one of the worst I've ever seen. Still might buy the album though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoLTPcD1S4Q&ob=av2e
Having spotted a few for sale recently i was curious to know if anyone had tried them. They don't seem to stay with their owners for very long. Any reason for sudden changes of heart and selling on quickly.
I would guess it's the same reason that PT cut his in half.

Which BC Member's Bands do you want to see, and have seen?
Big_Stu replied to xilddx's topic in General Discussion
I'd love to see Radge Against The Machine just because of the name; and after hearing the EP if Kit Richardson ever does tour widely I'd do everything I could to see them/her, with or without the delectable Nige in the band. -
Depend show you went about it; did you just ask repeatedly to try each one; or did you tell them up front you're looking for a new bass, your budget, what you've already got, whether they do deals & then whether you'd be buying that day? It's what i do any time I go looking for any kit & I was a known regular & never had any put-downs at Sound Control, Live Music & Scayles in Edinburgh. If you didn't - and they didn't know you I can sympathise with them, you may have been just another punter about to put a second dent in that Squier fingerboard.

So i got a guitar, and I got an amp now... where to start?
Big_Stu replied to LukeFRC's topic in Other Instruments
I once bought one dirt cheap a few years ago; might have been the Mk2? It turned out that they were bringing out the Mk3 a few days later so were selling off stock, might be the same there. For the money they're excellent. I gave it to a kid who was just moving up from the basic Fender he got with his 1st guitar. -
Forgive my ignorance - but why would a maple neck with a r'wood board need a skunk stripe?

So I went to see Jack Bruce & His Big Blues Band Last Night...
Big_Stu replied to Schnozzalee's topic in General Discussion
I haven't; but I heard several bad reviews of him on his last tour, which is why I didn't travel to the Robin to see him. Heard an i'view with him just a few weeks ago & he did sound like his age had caught up with him; possibly helped on it's way by his past indulgences. Pity, because the classic Cream (60s) Albert Hall film is one of my fave music films. -
Guy finds 62/63 Shell Pink Jazz Bass..it's all going off on Talkbass
Yeah it is completely worthless, I'm gonna customize it with all modern Squire parts for shits & giggles. I mean Squire is WAY better quality right?
I'll swap you for a Vintage, it's a genuine Vintage bass - it says so on the headstock? BTW - some would want to lynch you for not saying Squier, that hint alone is worth the trade, n'est pas?, I mean........... I saved your life - what more do you want? -
i've done this a couple of times and have yet to find a bushing that was glued in, they've all been a tight splined push fit. the method i use is i think similar to what the Bass Doc was suggesting, and almost identical to the method outlined in the link below (but i used the original bolt as i didn't have another that fitted.) http://www.instructa...from-Les-Paul-/ a bit of something soft under the lower washer is a good idea to protect the finish, and don't forget the earth wire! Matt
I've seen that done on my SG & it worked. I don't know if it's an ingenious idea by a 14 year old kid, or something they've been doing for years. Though IIRC there was more than just a big washer on mine to protect the finish.
Ahem, what about the palace in Perth, "Skoon"? Hang on I'm getting déjà vu here.
Yeah, but that's nothing to do with the jam n' cream cake. It's cos some bloke went up to a big chair up there and said "Hoots! Whurs oor Stane o' Destiny?" N' the boy next tae him says "Ah dinnae ken, s'gone!" True story - it is - you think I'm joking
So being from the north I have a bass guitar, pronounced like "crass" guitar
I'm from the north too & the only other northerner I've heard saying it that way says it because some knob in a band he used to like said it that way to wind folk up. It's also how they call it in Holland - and maybe other Germanic languages(?) It's ba(se) because it makes a bass note; not bass like a fish just because one user on here had a bird who pee'd on one of his!
Are you going to tell us what the rare guitar is then?
^this - if you got it for a ridiculously low amount way below it's market value & HMRC know that it could be different. -
Screwfix do a railway porter style cart, tough & with pneumatic tyres. Relatively cheap & can be steered one-handed.

They did my cover for my 4 x 12. They took a while but it's a good prduct, tho' I agree that it's annoying wading thru that lot when checking Hiwatts on ebay.
