1.
Come back John Hall, all is forgiven
Well it does appear to have two jack sockets; maybe it's another copyright thing.
 2.
has it shown up on your monitor yet ?
Yes..................... I felt ever such a clot!
 3.
There are far too many knobs on this !
Yeah, they were going to fix that but didn't know whether to send it to a luthier or a clinic.
 4.
worst case scenario, tb stands proud of you.
Say what you mean.............. c'mon.............. cough it up!
 5.
http://www.bass2bass.net/content/
Using numbers instead of words, it's so 1990s .................... unless it's a forum for folk with one or two basses ........... ........... in which case ............... I'm there!
 6. Truss rod cover AND an adjuster at the body end ? Looks like a Kay to me BTW.
 7.
For decades Framus was one of Europe's leading stringed instrument company, played by artists such as John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Billy Lorento, and Bill Wyman.
Yeah, but they also made this!............ .......... and just to prove it wasn't a grievous mistake you made another just the same! ................. so it's not all good.
 8.
when was it last on, do you know?
I stopped going when they stopped having as many bit's n pieces stands; you used to see stalls with old parts & pickups etc which was my main reason for going .................... just checked though and it's still going.............. http://www.guitarsho...&id=10&Itemid=9 Last one I went to was near Leeds a few years ago - they had a vocoder that was ex Frampton; so at least you got free DNA in with it.
 9.
I got fed up with Blueschat. Every time I replied or even quoted on a thread they'd tell me it wasn't as good as the OP
Did every thread start of with "I woke up this morning..........." ?
 10.
nearest bass Bash from us would be Moffat, i was tempted to go this year but chickened out at the last minute, maybe we should have a Newcastle mini-bash so that Jaydentaku can try out a load of amps, anyone got a big living room or access to a hall in Newcastle? Matt
They used to have an excellent guitar fayre every year in the Station Hotel - which as the name implies is right next to the main station. It was excellent - I used to travel from Edinburgh for it. It then moved to a venue up the street across the road from it. But at least it shows that the pub was up for lots of blokes making noise with guitars etc. so may we worth having a word.
 11. Having a tidy up of my bits n' bobs cases & these have been getting in the way for too long, risking being knocked about. They might liven up someone's budget guitar - or rouse the curious, who knows? Fender Tele bridge position pickup; this came out of a Mexican "Contemporary" Tele about 15 years ago. It's packed in a SD case - but it's a Fender MiM; about 6ins of lead..... £30 incl. p&p Pair of Wilkinson PAFs, also with a spare pair of black frames. Bought for a Gretsch Bo Diddley but changed my mind. Also £30 incl p&p. Slight string marking/scratches on both, 1st E on the bridge, 6th E on the neck one. better pics can be provided. Set of "Full Range" Strat pickups by John Birch; bought these off him years ago intended for a turbo-charge Strat project but never got around to it. Never been in a guitar, I'd love to hear what they sound like. Had another single one in the bridge of a Tele and it was very metal; wolf in sheep's clothing. His blurb said this did as they imply, more bass & more treble - but as I say - I've never tried them. £60 incl p&p Now the bad news - I haven't got Paypal - but anyone's interested I'm sure there's a way forward. PS. If anyone wants to swap the lot for a good quality P90 dog-ear pickup - must be black, must be a good one, must be a dog-ear; SD or Gibson then I'm game.
 12. My other half gave it "oooh, fwend..... bass fwends!" for a few days after she clocked it.......
 13. Cool, makes sense I suppose, 4 ohm speakers are getting far more widespread these days. I've noticed that Maplins are only doing them on-line now too. Mine were only £60+ each, which kinda says how long ago it was.
 14.
Mmmmmm, a can of worms to be opened, methinks. Everyone has their own opinions
Any chance you can now use your powers to PM me the winning numbers for this week's lottery?
 15.
A lot of us have been "screwed" and ripped off to one degree or another. My experience started with Don Arden.
"I-I-I-I can s-s-see our house fr-fr-fr-om up here!............ even if it is upside-down................just don't let go of my ankles eh?"
 16. Any & all of these will be up for sale just as soon as the market improves enough to get worthwhile prices.
 17. One of my most favourite places in the world is Holland; second - possibly - to Belgium. I'll never forget the education I was given - for free - by a bar owner is Maastricht. his opening line was "So........... English.......... all our beer is lager? Isn't it?". And then sank 3 bottles of 12% beer in less than five minutes - and expected me to match him........ I couldn't! And don't even start me on the volleyball competition they held in Ypres (it's Flemish so it counts) I was surrounded by 6ft+ stunning, blond women .......... all in bathing suits!
 18.
I have ordered an Eminence Delta. Forum bods seem to suggest that 400w at 4ohms will be a suitable match for my amp
I've got two of those in a Marshall 2 x 15 - a mate of mine has 2 x Delta-Lites in a cab. I bought mine over the counter at Maplins & they only did 8ohm versions at the time. AFAIK the bog standard Delta only comes in 8 or 16 ohm but that was a few years ago; while not trying to tell my granny how to suck eggs it may be worth checking in case Blue Aran are looking for something they can't find.
 19. Excellent job! Not something I'd have the nerve to do - though I'm often tempted to try to tighten the grill on my Hiwatt - but won't risk wrecking it. I watched the craftsmen at Marshall covering Lemmy Sig. heads & cabs, they took less than two minutes to do a head; I was amazed, but when you've been doing it for years.....! I'd no idea that was how piping was put on either.
 20. Good Tele thread! Noddy Holder c.1972, black tele, maple neck, with John Birch Superflux pickup at the neck & custom control plate by John Birch to enable a Gibson style switch for a lot more chrome for the glam image. Six saddle ashtray bridge. I've also got an SG Junior with John Birch bridge and Magnum pickup (c. Noddy Holder c1978-83) but why spoil a good Tele thread?
 21.
yeah, Lancaster was the rocker, that's why the band was never the same once he left, I may be wrong here but did he refuse to play on Living on an Island, saying he wouldn't be able to go home and face his family after playing on such sh*t, somebody will probably put me right on that one, but I hope it's right, great story
I think that was Marquerita Time - on one TOTP show they had Jimmy Lea of Slade as a stand-in. Apparently Rick was off his face on something & fell over the drum kit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oChnHlBnpo
 22.
Do you suffer from Tinitus?
Yup! 36 Slade concerts and a dozen or so Motorhead did it for me. Just got used to it, but have noticed it can get worse now just by listening to normal level radio, hi-fi etc. (Might be my imagination). It was checking that a Hiwatt 4 x 12 did or didn't have a dead speaker at a Slade tribute sound-check that finally made it permanent, one second of not thinking straight and "ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss".
 23. My first reaction too was "Oh no", the old Stax team seem to be going down fast. Steve C had a genuine brotherly love for Duck, they went way way back, talked about him incessantly, both lefties playing righties etc etc. Maybe I'll email him later but doubtless he'll be inundated. Horrible day & it's not long begun! Thanks Duck, for your essential part of "the" sound!!
 24.
I love what Duck does and how he really propels a song. It's interesting to watch his technique though. Thumb coming over the top of the neck. Lots of hand movement. Fretting fingers flailing away. Like many, I was taught to try and eradicate such 'bad' habits and to use minimal, economic movement, etc etc.
Possibly part of how he adapted originally from being left-handed but playing a rightie & it's stuck?
 25.
Just did this somehow.... whoops! Gunna have a go at pushing the wood back out from the inside. Any thoughts / advice before I wreck the bass even more?
Jeez, you must be gutted. Good you're going to get a pro on it. I've had similar to a jack socket on an SG, but looking at the finish on yours I can't think of a worse one to have to deal with. Best of luck.
