1. I had them retro fitted to a Warwick Thumb Bass 17 years ago, first class job, no sign of how it is done. Battery life (2 x PP3s) is that long I forget about them. Batteries went in the control cavity. Although it says 'side leds' mine are only fibre optics from the fingerboard one. Has anyone else noticed that?
2. Another vote for using something flexible like copydex. I seem to remember using rubber solution, as used for fixing punctures, to repair something similar years ago.
3.
I now can't wait for you to check your uncle's loft ....
He might find a tank up there....
4. 'Songs Of Yesterday' by Free.
5. Looks chunky, 50 year guarantee too, should last you out.
6. I remember doing a gig with a backline of Miles Platting rigs that were a wall of sh*te, they looked like they were covered in wood grain sticky backed vinyl. Edit - Ha ha, I wasn't on drugs... http://www.tonegeek.com/musicgear/amps/miles-platting-amp.php
7. Recently I put new strings on my EB3 and last night, after not having played it for a while, noticed I was getting a fret buzz on the G string for quite a way up the neck. Raising the saddle, even to higher than the D string, was not curing it so I thought it must be something else. I noticed it buzzed only when the string was plucked with my index finger and was ok with my middle finger. I was making sure I was plucking evenly with each. The conclusion I eventually reached was that although I try to keep my nails short the index fingernail was clicking the string, as after filing it down the fret buzz had gone. How that works I don't know.
8. To stop the neck dive when playing my EB3 (shorty) I pass the strap under my belt. This will also help stop trousers from hanging down on those with no arse to keep them up.
9. The side 'lights' on my Sims fitted Leds are only fibre optic.
10. Andy Fraser. Don't know why my ears tuned on to him and not the likes of Entwistle, Squire or John Paul Jones who I also must have heard playing. Maybe it was just the whole sound of Free.

12.
with excellent guitarists, Geoff Whitehorn (Back Street Crawler & Procol Harum) first, secondly Howard Leese (Heart), not quite Kossoff but very close.
The reason they are 'not quite Kossoff' is their use of effects. Effects will never give you the sound of Free.
13. Good to hear what sounds like what might have been an expensive repair was a cheap easy fix.
14. I am suffering with pain in both my thumbs at the moment. I have put mine down to the fact that recently I have been lifting some 8x4 sheets of plywood edge on using my fingers and thumb in a vice like grip and have probably strained them.
15. Two beautiful moggies.
16. My ones from Specsavers were Elacin ER25's.
17. Where are all the Warwicks? I am hogging three of them right here.
18. Link hopefully fixed. The amp is a Reuther ST 240,
19. I was recently given a non working guitar combo, one of these http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/reuther-st-240-stereo-amp-german-made-955604578 Reuther ST240 Stereo Amplifier. What I have discovered is the tip is not making contact in any of the input sockets. I have removed one and opened it up and what appears to be the tip contact does not touch the tip on a standard jack plug. This is an oldish amp, where there any other type of plug available then? The tip contact is that tiny pip you can see in the first picture. I have replaced one of the inputjacks that was not pcb mounted with a standard socket and the amp performs ok. Replacing all the sockets is a no go.
20. Gibson used this method on a Thunderbird, retaining both volume controls. Edited to add this..
21. How do you convert a 2X10 12Ω cab to 4Ω with just a wiring loom, is it magic cable?
22. When faced with what filters to get I based my decision on the fact I was getting them because I was never happy with the various make ER17/20 universal plugs I had been using. I went for the ER25 filters and have not regretted it, either as a player or a punter.
23.
good opportunity to show mine off I think! 1985 - one of the super early ones with the short horn.
Love that short horn, I wonder if it is possible to retro one of mine. Are those switches on the pickups, what do they do?
24. How is the intro counted in on this. I am thinking 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 and come in on the 7. I say this because in the 4th bar there appears to be a 9th beat (which is causing some confusion with the guitar player and drummer when I play it). Or, am I hearing it all wrong. What is your take on it.
25. Mid 70's I was in a band with two drummers, different styles complimented each other. https://soundcloud.com/james-inglis-934110996/good-time-wildlife-1975
