1.
I only look at the fingerboard when I'm learning stuff. At gigs I don't, as I'm usually on jug-watch.
2. I have the markbass compressore, very good (and the valve looks cool!) but pricey and a little on the large size.
3. Hey Guys John (KiOgon) just sorted me a fab new wiring kit for my JV 51 reissue, trouble is the old knobs wont fit on the new poles. Thats fine cos i didnt like them. Anyione know the best place to source genuine fender knobs at a decent price? thanks steve
4. John sent me a PIO wiring kit for my JV jazz/Precision and it sounds fantastic, really made a difference to the sound, brilliant build quality and cheap. Fantastic bloke to deal with, really helpful and quick, can't recommend enough!
5. KiOgon is your man for wiring kits. You can find him here somewhere Recommend the SD quarter pounders, I've got em in my JV P/J and they sound the business through my Ampeg and 4 x 10 & 1x15
6. does a modified one count? Bought this off Ash last year, put a quarter pounder in the P's to go with the quarter in the jazz. Best axe i've ever owned, so easy to play and reliable as hell for gigging (loud too!)
7. I fully sympathise with what happened. Ebay can be a minefield for both buyers and sellers. I've done dozen of deals both ways and the only issues i've ever had have been with guitars/effects etc..However to have won an auction and then been screw*d over with regard to buying a used amp is unusual regardless of offering courier pickup or otherwise. My gut feeling is that the seller wasn't fully commited to the ethos of ebay (probably not happy with the final winning bid) and had made up spurious excuses to pull out. If you have the opportuninity to leave negative feedback, for what little it's worth, leave negative feedback and look again. PS disregard the maiden aunts banging on about the "language", i would like to think we're all adults here!
8.
hmm.... Probably out takes, gaffs, awful demo's.. I have the Free box set. Do I want to hear Paul Rodgers saying " Got a fag Koss?" then proceeds so sing 'Soon I will be Gone' as flat as a witches t*t. ?!
9. DHA VT-1 or VT-2 nice clean overdrive. http://www.davehallamps.co.uk/page18.html
10. get a decent cab if you dont already have one, barefaced super 12 should give you the thump and bottom end, see the reviews on the forum
11. ACS 17's in these ears for rehersals, nothing for gigging as they seem to muffle the "excitement" of gigs...if that makes sense?
12. i used to have one and once or twice used it for its Eq into a 800w power amp. As i recall , line out to the power amp, so i guess it should be fine to use it into a small practice amp. Obviously DONT go from either of the 2 main outputs into anything other than an 8ohm or 4ohm cab!
13. just sold an SB 600 (without trem!) on ebay for £250. dunno if that was a good price or not to be honest?
14.

Oh man thats horrible! (also hilarious )
15.
His timings all over the place at the start of the video. There's a lot better on youtube than that for lessons bud
Marlowe Dk Perchance?
16. if its for home, laney or peavey 15w practice amps are fine but I hear the roland cube is good? Dont Eden do some pretty tasty practice amps? http://www.gak.co.uk/en/eden-nemesis-en-8-micro-practice-amp/29377?gclid=CIGknfjh8K0CFYsntAodrnf1uw
17.
nope not UFO sorry but this band have played the same stage as UFO many times
you're such a tease!
18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAmq5bAaTs8&feature=related sorry if this is in the wrong place nice easy lesson for slap begginers (like me!) with TAB
19.
Perhaps, although two bands is enough for me at once tbh I don't think it's a case of being proud of it. If they said we'd like a sound more like "x" to work with the band and possibly something that looks a little more like "x", "y" or "z" then I would be much more inclined as they are involving me in the decision making process for the instrument I have to play. I just don't like the idea of "play this or else". Honestly though I play music for fun and stress relief, not on a professional basis so feel free to disregard it based on that. But were you given a choice in the matter?
x? y? Z? i didnt know geddy played a Thunderbird! Hey, if thats the gig play whatever the f**k they say!
20.
I think you underestimate me... as soon as anyone turned round and said I HAD to play a certain bass or I'm out then they can swivel (short of Dream Theater or other epic band)
maybe thats why you havent been asked yet!
21. Matsumoku 82 aria pro II with EMG active pup £200 pickup?...............
22. i used to have a selmer treble n bass 50. Incredibly loud but broke up too low for any usefulness for me, not nearly enough clean headroom, amazing for guitar though! Sold it on ebay for £170 wish i had kept it now for our guitarist
