Hello All, Now heres a question and a half.... Being new to purchasing bass strings I was wondering what is the most common bass string bought amongst you good people? Having looked on Flea Bay I can see Ernie Balls, Rotosounds and D`addario`s which are around the £15 mark then upto a whopping £39 for the signature Steve Harris Rotosounds. But which are the best? and more importantly which are not going to cost half a weeks food budget! Regards Rick

Hi, to you all out there, fell upon this site by accident and thought I would sign up! I live in Rugby just outside of Coventry. I have been playing guitar for the past 20 years but just recently decided I am a far better bassist than 6 string guitarist and to comcentrate my efforts on my strength! I listen to a fair variety of music The Beatles, The Jam, Queen, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Bob Marley, Manic Street Preachers, AC/DC to name but a few! Influences include Paul McCartney, Bruce Foxton, John Deacon and Roger Glover My current set up is made up of a "Vintage" Precission Bass, Shine Jazz Bass, Westfield Stingray, Jim Deacon Precision and a Vintage V400 Acoustic 6 string. Playing through a 60 watt Opus Solidstate amp with a Zoom B2 Bass Pedal. All cheap and chearful but suits my needs. Been in a few bands but with work commitments and having a young family bit of a weekend bedroom stadium player at the moment! Well thats me! Regards Rick
