1. Hi Got the PF-500 head and its great but im carrying it to gigs in its delivery cardboard box and feeling a bit of a tw*t. I cant seem to find a case to fit it, its 14" wide, 11" depth, and 3" high. Any ideas? The 19" 2 RU rackmounts look a bit big and Gator dont seem to do anything to fit

DHA DI-EQ

yep got the VT2 twin EQ and its le nads du chien. Dave makes the best!
3. +1 for the equinox system. £400 new for 2 x 4 bar lights, DMX foot controller, stands, cables and carry case. We use it for all our pub gigs and it works a treat. Avoid the sound to light options (school disco), but the slow fade washes look good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KS-BtFA_CY
4.
I am also after soundchips for my bass pedals and would be grateful for any please Dave
where do we send em to Dave? using the VT-2 Eq its f*****g ace!
5. Might be worth having a look at Tracktion 3 from Mackie? Ive used it for years along with cubase, protools, abelton et al... For musos its very intuitive and everything fits on one screen, ie no clicking on extra pop up screens for VST's etc, just drag and drop them in as filters. I think its really cheap now as well
6. MU seems the way to go, just treat all the bands gear as your own if something goes tits up.
7. I use Dave Hall's VT-2 bass eq pedal http://www.davehallamps.co.uk/page38.html got to say im very pleased with it, very tubey, even at low gain, pricey though!
8. how about a p/j? Loads of those about at the mo!
9. Thanks guys, went and got a pretty nice looking 2nd hand squire on fleabay for 120 notes http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT which he can have on permenant loan . Like everyone says, it looks really unprofessional not to have some backup plan when the inevitable happens! Talking of which how many of you take a spare bass to gigs? have to say in the years ive been playing never busted a big one!
10. So there we were, in the middle of "just got paid" / "American woman" by ZZ Top/ The guess Who - in the pub tonight when the guitarist busts a string, goes out of tune and stops playing. What would you guys do in that situatiion? Me and the drummer improvised into a dodgy jazz funk thing for a couple of minutes whilst said guitarist fumbles for new strings, restrings and retunes. We discussed it after the gig, and as its happened before and likely to happen again we think we should have a standby "question and answer" thing going on between myself and the drummer to cover the guitarists ass. Its really panicky when it happens in a room full of punters! Any ideas, experiences? Dont suggest he gets a standby axe cos he hasnt got a pot to piss in
11. hey ash really enjoying your other JV p/j you sold me (old english white with tort PG), gigged it a few times now, sounds mental through my ampeg PF-500, 1x15 & 4 x 10, ghood luck with the sale! I can rtecommend him folks, top guy to deal with!
12. i have the ASC -15db filters after i exchanged them from the -17db filters which i didnt like. However the -15db filters were designed for solo singers or classical instumentalists and to be honest theyt're even worse, so im going back to the -17db filters. They're fine for rehersals but you loose the sheer oomph when you're gigging.
13.
I can't remember what happened to mine either? Perhaps they escape and roam free in a field somewhere like the one in the pic.
Thats weird, i had a VS and a 1 x18 and i cant rtemember what happened to mine either....it sort of just wasnt there one day...
14.
I've lost the high-bid status. Do I bid again? It'll probably still be a good deal but do I really need ANOTHER rig?
yep..its ampeg not ashdown!

17. hi jack ive always sold my basses/ guitars by taking em down the local post office. They weigh them, give you a price and the option of how to send (i use parcelforce 48 - never had any probs). Sending to the states might be a bit trickier but i think they can do that as well. The insurance for musical instruments is a minefield however, and you should check very, very carefully if you're covered, a lot , if not most companies will not cover for musical instruments damaged in transit. I always make this clear now in any correspondence to buyers who insist i send the items by post. Good Luck!
18. A mate of mine, Murray Gould, who plays session for the wanted and sugar babes told me he finds the music itself a piece of piss, but the real struggle is to concentrate and NOT MAKE A SINGLE MISTAKE when in concert, on TV etc. Amateur musos like me who play in a pub band make loads of mistakes every gig! Is that one of the differences? Maybe...
19. Marlowe DK is fab! He's the only online tutorial that clearly explained the fundamentals of slap to get me started, his beginner/intermediate slap lessons are brilliant. 20. FACT: some landlords (not all) are greedy, shortsighted, couldnt give a sh*t scum of the earth. These are the sort who Promise you loads of gigs after a good evening then deliver f**k all. 99% of the time its down to money. You ask for the usual (lets for example say £240) cos you're a busy in demand pub/covers band, then, irrespective of your talent/popularity they get an offer from another band who are new and trying to get in on the scene, or regular punter "kev" knows of this sh*t hot band his mates' son is in. The new band only wants £80 and a few beers and hey presto! You are outta there! Think im bitter from some personal experiences? Too bloody right! Its all part and parcel of being in a band isnt it? The 2 hours or so of actual pleasure - playing - that for which we all do it - are constantly offset with the bullshit of travel, setting up, taking down, travel, and to cap it all trying to get the gigs in the first place, sending posters which no one bothers to put up, double bookings, etc, etc............... rock n roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! spleen duly vented, thank you and good night.
21. had one in the 90's, god it was crap!
22.
I tried to see what it was, but Morrissey's incessant whining forced me to turn over after three seconds
