1. Hi Guys just picked up a warwick WCA 115 from mansons 2nd hand but mint for 100 squid. Im pretty pleased with it compared to my Ashdown 115. At the mo im using both the ashdown and the warwick into an ampeg PF-500. Do you reckon adding a second Warwick and ditching the Ashdown would be good move if i could pick up another for similar money?? That would be running 4 ohms total into the 500w. The warwicks 400w and the ashdown 250w both 8ohms. Reckon you would hear much of a difference? cheers!
2. yeah they do that on mine, I put some sticks like sh*t in the hole and screwed it back in when still wet, seems to have worked!
3.
Get your amp moded to post EQ? My Markbass F1 comes standard Post EQ DI and tbh I've never been unhappy with the sound.
but he hasnt got a markbass so he's not happy with the sound! would say SM58 but will get laughed off this thread! AKG i guess?
4. NOOOOOOO must resist!! Bought a wicked JV P/J off Ash last year, already paid for itself several times with gig money. Top guy to deal with!

7. always used to use Tracktion when i had a studio. Lovely intuitive workflow, plus everything on one screen, no new windows popping up. Mackie own it now.
8. KiOgon does fantastic wiring kits for P and J bass. I got mine here on basschat for about 20 quid and its really beefed up my quarter pounders, top guy to deal with too!

10.
The VT1 is very subtle. I use it with solid state amps to add a bit of grind and add tube warmth but it doesn't go much past that, even when cranked. It's a great and useful sound but not what I, and I imagine a lot of people, expect from a drive pedal. I realise I could probably get a more versatile pedal but I like the VT1 sound and they're made in the UK rather than mass produced and I'd rather support a small business.
yeah Daves a top bloke, theyre awesome sounding pedals, look great too!
11. hmmm as the owner of a DHA VT2 i cant comment on the behringer but i know that the DHA doesnt really cut it at low volumes with my practce amp but at gig volumes through my ampeg and 4 x 10 and 1 x 15 it sounds huge.
12. Very interesting debate guys! im happy to discuss our "going" rate. As your fairly typical 3 piece rock covers band down in the South West (Devon) we try to get a minimum of £60 each (£180) for pubs, although we are willing to drop to £50 each if the landlord/lady umms and ahhs (plus we offer that rate for first time gigs in the hope of further work). Christmas/bank holidays/carnivals etc, it creeps up to hopefully £80 each. Its really tough out there at the moment and we have played to a lot of poorly attended pubs this year and know the landlord must be loosing money. I dont want to see the number of venues offering live music ever diminishing, you have to cut your cloth accordingly.
13. getting on with each other so much more important than ability at any level....
