I have that exact same bass. It's not Custom Shop. It's an honest example of a reissue. I would certainly pay £1000 for that bass as it's in pretty good condition. The reissues are a cut above the standard stuff of the same period.

I've just watched B.B. King's set on iplayer. I thought it was superb. This man is 85 years old and still playing and singing like the master he is. BTW the bass player was using a Yamaha TRB.

I would be wary of the split in the back of the neck. It could be an overtightened truss rod.

Congratulations Matt that Guild looks superb. Also nice to see my old Gibson sneaking in to the side of one of your photos.

Was the strap button on the back of early Fenders not meant to be used to position the bass in a more upright position to help those making the transition from upright to electric bass?

My son who is really a Jazz player wanted a Precision but wanted it fitted with a Jazz neck. I've therefore put this bass together in shell pink which is a finish I rather like. The neck is a mighty mite Jazz neck with precision decal fitted. The pickup is a Fender 62 vintage. Tuners are hipshot. The body is from a Squier. Hope you like it.

The two branches shouldn't be confused. I would also say that there are plenty of very lively CofS congregations with good music being played. It's perhaps not very fair to damn Scottish presbyterianism as a whole. One persons experience can be vastly different from another's.

Iwould go for a comfort strap. I think the bass gallery in camden stock them.

As a Christian who is employed full-time by the church I just want to say how much I have appreciated the way in which everybody has approached this thread.

If this auction has been reported and is obviously trying to work a flanker then why hasn't ebay pulled it?
