Sold my Gibson IV to Matt last night. Was sorry to see it go but needs must I'm afraid. The car ain't going to sort itself. Anyway, it was great doing the deal with Matt. I'm glad that the Gibson has gone into the ownership of a true and knowledgeable Gibson enthusiast. A thoroughly pleasant chap and a gentleman to boot! It would be great if all transactions were like this. Thanks again my friend!

Was the finish on HW1 instruments not nitrocellulose? The finish on these new basses is urethane.
Ive always wanted a SUB and glad i looked through the 10 pages to find this Definitley changing the guard on this haha! I saw the graphite body in a shop when i first started bass as a kid and remember drooling over the bass! Hopefully he gets back to me soon shall have to send a PM! Think ive already made a decision, hopefully still for sale!
Good man! I also changed the guard on mine. I put on a black guard and was well pleased. On that nice blue finish a number of guards would look fantastic. Believe it or not I also had a stingray but preferred the SUB. The stingray was sold and I still have the SUB! All the best.
It really is! Im very tempted! Ive got a ray34 sitting in a shop with my name on it, but it plays like a bag of sh-t. So if for some reason its a dud or cant compete on the price of this. I'll be in touch very soon, just after the new year probably! (im just waiting for the guy at the music shop too attempt a setup!) Cheers, oh and its my favourite colour
Cancel the ray34 and buy the SUB. The SUB is a great bass and one of the best value basses money can buy. It's more of a Stingray than the 34 IMHO. After all, the SUB was built in the EB factory alongside its more expensive cousin. I also suspect that the SUB will become a bit of a cult bass in the future in the same way that the SG and Les Paul juniors did in the guitar world. It's a no-contest decision in my book. You already have doubts about the ray34 - go for the SUB!
Well given the fact that he's done a version of the song which is clearly miles better than the other effort, surely this is the place? Two threads about the same song would be clutter, and there is no shame in being bettered by Mark King.
The thread wasn't about the song!
-
Oh no! Why did this have to turn into yet another I love/I hate Mark King thread. Can't we all just accept that there are two camps and be done with it. How about a fanboy starting a 'I LOVE MARK KING' thread and then those that do can indulge themselves and those that don't can, with a huge amount of self-discipline, ignore it.

I'm building a precision for my son at the moment. He wants a precision but with a Jazz neck as he's really a jazz player. I got a Mighty Mite neck and am well impressed. The body I got is from a Squier. The neck pocket will need a tiny bit of work to make it fit. However, I would rather have a wee bit of work to have a tight fit than have the neck falling into the pocket.

It's a shame that this thread is still open. How many people have to have a go, and how often, before enough is enough?

Bought a drum machine the week before last. I've also bought, sold and traded basses on here. It's the first place to go. Nuff said!
My usual, decorative stands don't come free. They are also moody, prone to changing their minds at the last minute and require constant attention. That's got sod all to do with this glorious Jazz I'm selling, but thought it might cheer you until the next time I can get all the elements together at one time
You just had to show my old gretsch didn't you. I'm now a wee bit sad. Wait a minute. What's wrong with me? That photo warms my innermost being. To hell with the gretsch! I can also testify to Jimmy Moon's work. It is always of the very highest standard. Good luck with the sale Andra.

Just bought a drum machine from Golchen (Jon). A nice, friendly straightforward transaction. This is the way it always should be! Thanks Jon.

The natural velvet finish is pretty rare. Although I don't think that it will affect the value greatly. I liked the finish. That nice satin feel was just the ticket!
Need to know what music you're into, your fave bass players etc.
I'm fairly old school. Blues/Soul/Motown/a bit of funk. Players include Jamerson/Babbitt/Jemmott/Pino Palladino/John Paul Jones.
