1.
Er what T&C terms did you not comply with?
Yea tell us!
2. I had my first proper practice in weeks last night going through a 2 hour set. My fingers on my right hand are aching this morning, but with any form of excersize if you over do it things will start to ache (not that that is always a bad thing).
3. They have an EB3 in my local music shop (or at least they did when I was there last) so I may pop in today to give it a try. I think they wanted £299 for it wich I think is a bit steep so won't be buying one from them.
4. I was watching these vids on youtube earlier, I always find them amazing and inspiring. It shows just what range a 4 string has .
5. John Deacon Norman Wat-Roy John Entwistle
6. I put a jazz together with parts I got off ebay. I was surprised how little I paid for quality parts.
7. Hmmm, sounds ideal for the blue's band I'm in. I suppose I could convince the wife that it's actually a piece of furnature.
8. I used to get cuts quite often at work, I used the super glue method with some fabric plaster tape (like plasters but without the padding and it comes on a reel). I used to use Rotosound Tru-bass strings, they are pretty low tension and have a plastic winding.
9. Nice sound, I've not tried too many acoustic basses (2 to be exact) often thought of getting a fretleaa acoustic but have other plans at the mo.
10. John Deacon was the first bass player that I recognised as a bass player, not just another member of a band.
11. Glad you're ok, it could have been so different. The bassist I was replacing in a band last year had a belt of a dodgy PA and a guy who was playing at a wedding reception wasn't so lucky. I have an RCD for my amp but you really need everything protected.
12.
Bring it on! (says my osteopath).
+1
13. It all depends on what you like, if you like your jazz sound you could get a 2nd hand USA or a new Highway 1 or go out bass testing.
14. I agree with most of the comments, I wouldn't/won't let anyone use my rig. Even if someone else gets it repaired or pays for the repair it would be out of use for a time and would that mean no gigs?(not that it has or will get broken)
15. I had a 100w stingray head looked more retro than the one pictured but had the little push buttons including the red "fart" button. Was it labelled deep or bass boost I can't remember but cos I had it going through an 16ohm 18 inch speaker it sounded like a fart
16. I prefer a nice well played in set of nickles so leave them on as long as possable. I did use flats until I bought the Warwick.
17. Whey Aye C/DC were one of the best AC/DC trib I saw, the little fella doing the Angus lead was great. They have split now but I think most of them are in Volts who are the best AC/DC act in the UK.
18. I bought a Mighty Mite jazz neck new off ebay and it's the best jazz neck I've played, I'd even go as far to say better than the USA S1 jazz I played in the week.
19. Scales and modes, I've been having a back to basics week. I know major and blues scales but have become a bit ignorant and just learnt songs from the record.
20. I started wanting a bass when I was 11 after seeing John Deacon on some Queen vids. My first bass was a bit of 1x2 inch wood with strings and frets drawn on with a marker pen. When I was 16 my parents bought me a guitar because it was cheaper than the basses they had in the shop and the combos were smaller. when I was 17 I sold the guitar and bought a proper bass. I've always liked bass, its got more balls than a guitar, its bigger, got thicker strings so therefore its better, period. I sometimes play tennor banjo and have learnt blues harmonica as a side line.

Dilemma

What basses are they? If you want tone and a particular neck I'd suggest you keep looking, something will come up.
22. When I first started out the band I was in supported a band who were "about to get signed". The pub we gigged in used to pay £100 a night split 70/30 main act/support but the other band decided they wanted it all so a couple of us had to persuade them otherwise. When we were playing they went and sat in their van, I think they recorded a tape which they sold at giggs but never got signed.
