1. Good Points:- Can play by ear Can learn songs pretty quick Good Timing Can Improvise Bad Points:- Forget stuff really quick If I don't play it regularly Can slap a bit
2. Is this the same seller who over prices most of his stock? I know there is an ebayer in Germany who thinks anything over 10 years old is worth a mint.
3. No not poo, the one's you sit on. I'm looking for a new adjustable fold away stool to sit on at gigs. I have an old kitchen stool at the mo but need something foldawayable, any suggestions? Thanks
4. In your position I would be looking for another band.
5. Such a stoopid price, if I had £3,000 to spend on a bass rig it wouldn't be that.
6. What about Norman Watt-Roy and Bruce Thomas?
7. I've heard alot of prase for Wizard pick up's on here it all depends on what sound you want. I may even be getting some myself soon.
8. I nearly bought a Thumb last year, I heard of an NT going for £800 when looking for a new bass but didn't follow it up. My Dolphin isn't too heavy I doubt the tone cavity takes much off the weight but the reinforcing rods in the neck probably make up for it. As for sound, yea I can make it sound zingy, it also does good impressions of a Precision a Jazz and even a Ric. I get a really nice low growel out of it, even the guitarist I jam with has commented on how nice it sounds, doesn't sound tinny like other basses (his words not mine).
9. See, you're all sorry now, hmm where did I leave that Carlsbro?
10. There is a different pic over at Talkbass http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...v%3D2%26hl%3Den
11. Please yourself
12. I think the 203 is cheaper than the 201, well it is on ebay anyhow.
13. Yea, if you look at the piano player thats the same it's just naff editing. It happens alot when you dub the original recording over a live performance.
14. We've got a Bigger Problem Now - The Dead Kennedys Stars and Stripes of corruption - The Dead Kennedys Peaches - The Stranglers Half Caste - Thin Lizzy Dancing in the Moonlight - Thin Lizzy
15. Neat, neat, neat, - The Damned Love song - The Damned Public Image - Public Image Ltd
16. I'm not really big on effects but have heard Flea with that envelope filter quacky thing. Also Geezer Butler on N.I.B with that heavy flangey overdirven whaa sound, or Phil Lynott with a flange sound on Waiting For an Alibi.
17. Nice clean sound.
18. Yea the adjust-a-nut is a bit sharp on the corners but you could always file them down or dont put your fingers on them. I used to catch my fingers on the grub screws in a Fender style bridge so moved my playing position.
19. The only thing I'm not too keen on is the Strat style jack socket. I don't think the price is too bad as it stands but I wouldn't pay any more than that.
20. I bought some fast fert at the weekend, smashin stuff easy to applie.
21.
There are two sized posts - any look on the interweb will show that. Buy the right ones.
There are several sizes and different fittings, I found that out when I fitted the Schaller M4S to a Mighty Mite/Fender neck. The holes drilled in the headstock can vary from 12 to 20mm. The M4S that I have require a 17mm hole and the hole in the headstock were 18mm. Any how back on subject according to the Schaller site the M4 requires a 12mm hole so anything alot bigger would require doweling and re-drilling.
22. I'd love to have a go on that, the bridge looks a nice piece of engineering.
23. How big are the holes in the head stock? You'll need to know that before ordering any parts. What bass are they for?
24. Going back to the original post, and judging buy the replies there are a fair amount of Warwick owners on the forum. Some with more than their fair share, mentioning no names. The long and the short of it is different people like different basses. I think I've found a peach and will probably get another Warwick should the cash arise. You could probably fine a fault big or small in any bass, not slating Ric's but I find the body too thin and the neck way too fat. Some moan about dead spots on Stingray necks but I didn't notice any on the Ray I owned. I had 2 Fenders which I had no gripes about but others question some of their quality control. If you listen to the opinions of others too much you can get paraniod and end up thinking everything is tat.
25.
It's gone again, probably due to the No PAYPAL statement which infringes ebay rules
Yea gone, but will it be back?
