1. 1.Bass's made with exotic wood which really should be left for coffee tables and the like. 2. Bass effect pedals. 3. Bass's with more than 4 strings.
2. I had no wax or strings with mine but the strap locks and everything else was there
3. Very similar to Klause Floride's bass. I think his was a different colour but I like the matching headstock.
4. I was f***ing shocked £750 I sold the ray for, got stung £25 ish by paypal then today I find £30 ebay final value fee what a bunch of c**ts. Now I don't like using that word but thats what they are, I will not be selling anything but tat on there from now on.
5. Hmmm nice bass. I had an old 78 P that was similar in colour, perhaps more banana yellow.
6. Have you tried looking for a new active circuit for the bass? I don't know what the controls are on a P'bass special so can't really suggest any. It also depends on how much you have/want to spend.
7. My GAS has disapeared since buying the Warwick. It feels great to play and has sutch a variety of tone. I also have a bit of a Jazz bass project going on which is keeping me occupied.
8. Nice bass, I used to have a metallic pink BC in about 92, I didn't know which model it was though.
9. The D'addario myth probably comes from the coloured ball ends.
10. I have a leather strap that is about 3 inches wide I got off ebay for about a tenner. Best strap I have ever had, I'll be getting another soon.
11. Is the active circuit on a printed circuit board (PCB), if it is you can have another one made and either transfer the components over yourself or get it done for you. A quick google or look in your phone book should find something. How bad is it broken?
12. I'm glad no one has mentioned my bass or I would get paranoid and have to start sleeping with it handcuffed to my right leg (again).
13. My problem is that I like too many styles/era's of music and want to play them all. I would either have to play in about 20 bands or find other musicians who have the same idea or are very understanding. I won't bore everyone with a long list but lets say it ranges from Buddy Holly to The Dead Kennedys and beyond.
14. There is a cd set you can get, a friend of mine has it but I can't remember what it's called. It has studio tracks on it, before they were all mixed. Some sound better than the final mixes IMO.
15. The 5 string sets I bought for my Yamaha (now sold on) were fine. I can't remember which ebay member I bought them off but they took nearly a month to get to me. I will probably end up getting some 4 string sets.
16. I have some ER20's, they are loads better than the disposable ones which seem to block out everything. I can still hear the snare and vocals and can feel the bass through the floor. I went to a AC/DC tribute gig a few months ago and came away with a ringing in my right ear (forgot to take the plugs).
17. Here is me and the Granddaughter taken last christmas.
18. Thin Lizzy had the right Idea with 2 guitarists with one playing off the other. Any more that 2 and your off into folk territory, and thats only so you can't tell who's pissed. And this drove me nuts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G55eY8oD730 It reminds me of the time I gave my son a harmonica and he just breathed in and out through it all day. See how long you can listen to this for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdLhRB4dJJI I rest my case m'lud
19.
Item has been relisted And in response to "can I call for the bass and pay cash when it arrives" "unfortunately not as the one in the pic is mine, once i recieve your payment via paypal i then order yours from my supplier in the us which accounts for the 14-21 days delivery! but you can pick it up once it is here but your payment must be paid first within 3 days after auction ends" regards louise louise - lite_bite_catering76
Seaham is just up the road from me (well up the A19). If I could be arsed (which I can't), I could suggest to the seller that I go and see their bass (if they really have it) and buy their's and they have the other one when/if it arrives.
20. I've got a whole set of blues to learn (about 20 songs, maybe more). Last night I worked out Catwalk Woman the Chris Rea version (if there is any other version?).
21. Guitarists are a funny breed, some of them expect other band members to be mind readres. Have you asked them what exactly it is they want? Oddly enough the guitarist /singer in the band I'm in came out with something similar a few weeks ago. It was directed at me and the drummer, we asked him what we were doing wrong to which he answered "I don't know" hence we got nowhere.
22. I think I've seen it before a few months back.
23. I like the Rimini and the maranello basses. I havn't actually played one yet so can't comment on sound etc. I didn't think Nicky Wire sounded too bad all things considered. As for trying stuff in shops I tried a Jet King at a local shop and it sounded pants, that said they only had little 20w practice amps to try stuff through.
