1. I sold mine for £750 and to be honest I was suprised. There were others advertised and on ebay for less. Maybe it was the colour (vintage SB) I don't know but at least it covered the price of my Warwick. Looks like you got a nice bass for the money.
2.
Yeah, £40 is a steal, espcially for such a nice neck, I was never expecting a rolled fretboard!
I was really impressed with the quality and the finish.
3. You didn't miss much, it was an SG shaped guitar with an AC/DC sticker slapped on it.
4. I like the tracks I've heared so far, just don't have the spare wonga at the mo.
5. There are some Mighty Mite P necks on ebay bidding starts at £40. I bought a jazz neck off them a few weeks ago.
6. My main bass is the Warwick dolphin but I do have a bitsa jazz for those less savory venues.
7. I had one many moons ago that clipped onto ths strap or my belt, It might have been the jhs one.
8. If it were me, I would check to see if it was stolen. The price is too good to be true.
9. I had a similar experience and got a refund as soon as my wife sent a snotty message. We asked the seller to arrange collection but they didn't bother and told us to chuck it (no it wasn't a bass). I wouldn't pay to send it back though.
10.
It's brilliant. All jazz should be like this.
Are there other types of jazz then?
11. I just like reading his feed back. I wonder how many people buy the cheap stuff just to leave neg/neutral feed back and wind him up?
12. Steven James Guitars in Middlesborough, good selection of new and used basses. Good customer service, friendly and helpful.
13. Yea ME! On a serious note I think it was Peter or Henry Fonda who played a double bass player in a club and was acused of doing a robbery he didn't do cos someone else did it.
14. I don't know about the body but I have used beeswax on a neck I have. I used Lord Sheratons pure beeswax balsem from Wilkinsons, applied it with very fine wire wool (it contains turps). I then applied some Briwax which is also beeswax but buffs up to a sort of gloss. I was amazed at the finish I got.
15. Ha, my Aunt used to run the Swansea Jack pub about 200 yards from the prison.
16. I played an original Highway 1 Jazz (without Badass and I think without grease bucket), I personally prefered it to the USA. I think it fills the gap between Mex and USA nicely and the finish looks cool. Prices vary from shop to shop, I think Sounds live do them for about £490.
17. I used to back the tone right off on a few numbers I recorded on a Jazz I had years back. When I had the Cort and the Stingray Everything was full on, they were the first active basses I owned so went ott a bit. Now I have a Warwick and play Blues so have the Eq set flat and only use the neck PU. I find you get a nice warm sound without being too muddy, I like the tone that Jack Bruce gets out of that fretless Thumb bass.
18. I "think" our friend from the north Mark Knopfler is a lefty who plays right.
19. Nice looker, better than the OLP in my opinion. That bridge looks nice and solid.
20. Bass's with plastic necks and/or plastic bodies (Y'know Status/Modulus, etc)
