1. there's some on ebay £25 for a splitP style.
2. I've got half of a VMJ, the maple body is heavier than normal but not really that noticable on the strap. It came with a Stagg neck which I changed for a Mighty Mite maple Jazz neck, fitted Schaller machine heads and a Hipshot string retainer. My next step is to fit a Badass3.
3.
You mean HW-Ones ;-) The HW1 had the normal tone control. confusing i know but the 2006 range are called one and the original range called 1
Ha, my local shop have confused things even more by calling the HW with a Badass2 a Highway II.
4. Go and try some out, thats if you have any good shops near you. You'll find alot of different opinions on here, I tried an early model HW1 without badass and found it to be ok but would like to try one with a BA2. Have you considered one of the new Squier classic vibe Jazzes?
5. Have you considered a BA3? They come with 2 sets of saddles grooved and non-grooved, if you have already bought a BA2 this wont help much.
6. I like lots of different stuff from the punkiest punk to the smoothest soul and lots of other stuff inbetween. When it comes to playing covers either everyone needs to agree on everything or there has to be a compromise. I've been in bands where we've all done what the guitarist wants but he foo foos every suggestion put forward, hence we split up pretty soon.
7. How do you leave something that size on a bus, if it was left on a bus and didn't fall off the back of it.
8. Those clips sound sweet, I love the sound Jamerson gets from his bass. Thanks for posting them.
9. I paid £850 for a 2nd hand Stingray last year, sold it a few months ago for £750 after I bought the Warwick Dolphin. I have also bought a load of parts and built my own Jazz bass, it cost me less than £160 and play's superb.
10. I am borrowing a tall stool out of the bar at the rehearsal room, anything too short like a drum stool just seems to make me hunch over my bass. Anyway been to the quack this morning and been signed off for another week.
11. But it was Colin Grigson (Rik Mayall) who played bass in Bad News!
12. I never had a problem with the Percision basses I had. I just used a medium to large flat head screwdriver.
13. I think this guy is trying too hard. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=x_J8ObuMSwc and here he is again http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=p_1aZCyTh6A&...feature=related
14. The posh one looks nice but I don't like the price, the stagg ones are on ebay at about the same price.
15. I can remember the songs in the set I have learnt (current set), but have forgotten alot of songs I've done in the past. Even easy 3 chord numbers. "Whats the problem with that" I hear you say, well when someone says "lets do this for the encore" I think sh*t!!. Also to make things worse the last band I was in played all the songs a whole tone or more lower cos the singer couldn't sing. After trying different tunings and a 5 string in the end I just adapted the songs and played them on a 4 string standard tuning. It f***ed up my playing somewhat, normaly I know the key and what scale is being used but this was like playing everything backwards.
16. Doh! the 3rd set are for left hand conversion arn't they?
17.
Thanks to stella and an ill advised fart, these are one and the same.
Reminds me of the old carry on film (Doctor I think) "I though I had wind and I was wrong". I've seen the fold away ones in IKEA, I'd prefer a padded one so my arse doesn't go to sleep. It needs to be fairly tall so I sort of perch on it.
18. I had a jap Fender resprayed at Morgan motors (Malvern) but I don't have any contacts there any more.
19. I bought a maple one of these a few months ago and they are sweet, very well made and polish up nice worth the £35
20. Can anyone tell me how much needs to be routed out to fit a Badass to a Fender? Just an observatoin but why is a pre grooved BA2 more expensive than a non grooved BA2, and more expensive than a BA3 which comes with 2 sets of saddles, and why does a BA3 have 2 sets of holes 3 if you count the throught body holes? Judging buy the comments below I'll probably plumb for a Badass or BasassIII
21. Thats a nice bass, I like the colour and binding. Buy a lotto ticket?
22. It's like any mail order bass, you don't really know what you are getting. It would be nice to try one first.
23.
And unbelievably someone hit the BIN button!!
DOH!!!!
