1.
ooh! good luck, the stops and changes IIRC from my younger days, are quite challenging. Having a horn section will help.
I've got it now. I used to play it years ago, so had to re-learn it, but it's cool.
 2.
Welcome aboard. What kind of stuff have you been playing?
All kinds. I wouldn't say I specialise in any style in particular. How about you?
Welcome Andy! I am just over the water! (The Port) Cheers Justin.
Hi Justin, nice to 'meet' you!
 3. Have you looked on youtube? I know it's not great quality but it might be there....
 4.
I'm sure he's having a great time, playing golf relaxing and counting the royalties as they come tumbling in. He's always been a great, in my eyes. Who else can play in front of 100,000 people in those tiny denim shorts... Great bassist. solid and reliable. Not sure if this is the place for them, but whilst we're / i'm on the subject, would anyone be interested if i posted some tour photos here - as requested in another thread?
Agreed, I find a lot of his bass lines quite creative too. Deacon John, a hero in my world.
 5.
I thought John Deacon was Queen's bass player
He was my first bass hero so there is no Queen without John Deacon in my eyes.
 6.
Bugger!!! I thought this was going to be a thread about the horrible reed instrument I played in my school orchestra *I'll get me coat*
excellent
 7.
Would you be happy buying second hand? You'd get some cracking stuff in that price range at the moment. How about saving an extra £50 and shopping for a second-hand Stingray, there's a lot of them about at that kind of price lately. If the Jazz bass is more your style, I've seen a couple of second-hand Sandbergs around £650 too, and you can't go far wrong with that. A second hand USA Jazz (as Markytbass suggested) could be a winner too. I'd have a mooch round ebay, and the for sale forum here, and see what takes your fancy.
Good idea. I'll look into that. I've just remembered that my mate runs an online guitar store and they're opening a shop in the city centre soon. He offered me wholesale prices on anything I want so I'll get in touch with him. How could I have forgotten that?!
 8. I have quite a flexible style and sound. I lend myself to most things, so it's extremely difficult to imagine which direction to go in next.
 9.
Some of the tracks on 'Joe Zawinul & The Zawinul Syndicate - World Tour' are plain awesome, in particular 'Patriots'. Richard Bona on bass I think?
Yeah Richard Bona was in the Zawinul Syndicate. I went to see them at Ronnie Scott's in about 2001 and they had a guy called Etienne Mbappe. He was a monster as well.
 10. Can anyone offer advice about working out your own tax and N.I etc and how to go about paying all of this?
 11. I've had a Mexican Fender Jazz bass since about 2000 and haven't felt the need to get a new one as I got very lucky with it tone wise. I feel it's time to move on and get a new bass, my budget is about £500-£600. Thoughts? Cheers.
 12. Richard Bona - I'd recommend checking nearly everything he's played on out. Frank Zappa - too much to mention, but the major shout out goes to Scott Thunes.
 13. Hello there, I'm from Liverpool and I've been playing bass about 10-11 years. Cheers Andy
