13.
Hello, this is my first post here. Would you believe, I BIN'd this very amp today, then later in the afternoon, registered on Basschat and saw this thread. What are the odds? I'm curious to hear how it sounds too. IMO, much of the colouration in amplified double bass comes from the pickup and speaker system, so a transparent amp, while desirable, isn't a cure-all. I was attracted to the clarus because of it's size and power, and DB specific features like the high Z inputs and notch/LP filter. It'll be used with an EA wizzy 10 cab. I'll let you know how I get on...
Welcome to Basschat.. Well that's two of us that thought it a bargin ! I used to own the two channel version, in fact the actual one referred to above (I bought it from WoT) and think that it will work very well with your DB. How often do you see that sort of quality/power/size/weight, class D amp for £200 ? Cheers, P
 14. Acoustic Image Clarus 1R on the Bay for £200 looks pretty good value to me. Not mine I don't normally post eBay links as some get upset if they are already watching it - however as this has a BIN of £200, I think anyone interested would have grabbed it already (starting bid is £175) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Acoustic-Image-Claru...id=p3286.c0.m14

 17.
New Year gas etc.
'New Year gas' will have a very different meaning this year for many, as the big utility price rises kick in.....
 18. Congratulations on getting your new bass. You'll be able to post your opinion on Lakland soon - thats the one that matters ! P

 20.
The only reason i normally buy new is so i can use my credit card. Ive lost a lot of bargains on BC due to this way of working.
Plenty of people on here accept Paypal and this be charged against your credit card P
 21. Just been speaking to Reverb Bristol and they have just received 7 Spector basses in. Think they were all non US though not sure about that. There was a Legend 6 string and they quoted me £319 for that after the 20% off. Soundslive are quoting £569 for the same bass. The other basses were a mixture of 4 amd 5 string. May not be quite the bargains that the ex Sound Control stock was. Would be interesting to hear what the other branches have in or on the way Basschatters fill your boots.... P
 22. Ended at £670 ! - I was expecting it to make about £600.... P
 23.
Sounds like this could be resolved by a nice trip out for Platypusses' brother with a bit of paypal flying around beforehand, assuming they have one
Crossed my mind - of course if you buy loally you then add the sales tax - think it's 5 % in Florida Kinda lost interest in the whole thing in the end, partially due to scoring one of the Reverb/Sound Contol Spector NS5's on the cheap P
