1. I bought a guitar combo for my son from ebay and went to collect it. When the father of the seller handed it to me I noticed that there was a full size pc keyboard sticking out of the open back. He had seen it, though tought it was all part of the combo! When I got home I fould a pencil in there
  2.
Sorry Guys, I was quickest on the draw :-) Steve
Makes up for missing the VTC, I guess
  3. Called around to see Jas yesterday and bought his Sterling HH Ltd. Great guy to deal with and would happily recommend him to anybody Thanks Jas
  4.
You are totally correct there...I rung the gallery today and they have a Sadowsky RV4 and UV70 in stock. Lakland-wise they have a JO Skyline I can try, but thats about all. I have been offered a good price on a USA JO model by bass Central but I hate buying blind so dunno what move to make next. I'm getting scared about selling the Sterling lol J
Think a few days in the Florida sunshine is called for
  5. Trouble is, the US ones are scarce as hens teeth by comparison with the Skylines. Don't know of anywhere that stocks the US models and would be suprised if the Gallery has any.
  6.
I don't normally buy the mag (all the info I need is here!) but would be interested to see the Vigier review but can't really get into town today with my heavy workload. Hmm. If there was some way of looking at it perhaps electronically... ped
Ped as they sent me two copies every month - I'd be happy to forward a copy to you, if you PM me... P
  7.
Cheap 'n' cheerful And apologies for the crap photo!
Is that you gigging rifle in the picture?
  8. Birdy is looking for a VTC: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=42348
  9. Great news Alan, congrats
Perhaps I'll finally be able to use a Precision without someone complaining about it. Happy days.
Do you actually have a Precision these days?
  10.
Bugger - missed it again. Lucky I've got Standing on DVD for ad-hoc worship. Anyone who does not dig Jamerson or Duck is not a real bass player IMO.
if you have access to BBC4 you can catch all the Motown stuff, they repeated these programs at midnight last night and tonight there's more Motown goodness: http://uk-tv-guide.com/list/BBC+4/21%20February%202009/
  11. I've had some dealings with them too and always found them top notch
  12.
I looked at the Genz Benz Shuttle but it's just a tad outside my price range - it'd be ideal though, transport wise.
There are a lot of happy Shuttle users on here. The Shuttle 6 costs £459 delivered, from the Bass merchant and comes with a 3 year warranty. That looks to be within your budget P
  13.
Its mine now..... Thanks Rich for the trade. Marc
Congrats, I see you've already updated your sig How does the Spector sound through your Mesa M6 ? (no hang on, I think I know the answer to that!)
  14.
2) Buy yourself an 8lb Sadowsky!
The real benefit here is that your wallet will be so much lighter that it will help take the strain off your shoulder!
  15. What a pi@@er Al, just as the band situation is picking up. In the short term you could try some Iburprofen, as this is an anti-inflammatory and pain killer Though as others have recommended best see a doctor
  16.
I've been asked to join a Rammstein tribute band which I've accepted. I currently play (and will still play) in an originals band but thought I'd try this out for a bit of a change of genre. Does anyone know much about them and if so, how do you think a Rammstein tribute band would do. I'm not really sure of their following in the UK. The singer sings in German which is a good start and both guitarists know their stuff as well as the keys player so I'm fairly confident it will work out.
I quite like them. As you mentioned, I'm not sure either about their following here. Could be a bit of fun though, what's the worst that can happen? P
  17.
You can have my address - bring mates
Think the Chief is a durex man, Al.....
  18.
Mine turned up today – very happy with it . Feels really solid and is sooooooo padded on the inside. It weighs a bit more than I expected but I don’t mind this at all cos I know my basses will be snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug inside this seemingly bombproof gig bag. Al and Paul – what am I meant to do with the wallet thing that comes in the front pocket? Tool bag? Cable bag? Makeup bag ? What do you guys use it for, or do you use it at all?
Don’t know Ben, I didn’t get one with mine. Being that it’s made by Bodygloove, it might be a wet bag for your mankini
  19.
Sold ...and sold! If it's crap then I'm gonna be 'avin' words fellas
Oh no! wee've done it now Al
  20. I've had one of those for about a year now - excellent gig bag, you won't be disappointed. Thats a very good price too. Suppose if I wanted to be picky, I say the handle feels like it should be slightly further forward, to balance better when carrying it. Or maybe I just carry basses that suffer from neck dive!
  21. Congrats mate, things are really looking up for you on the band front..

'New kid on the block' Harry, bought a fuzz pedal from me yesterday. Easy transaction, quick decision - even quicker payment. Would be more than happy to deal with again.... P
  23.
Korg have taken the distribution over from Sound Tech, so could be a factor... D.
Could be something in that korg seem to be jacking up there prices of late. The junior Platypus has been trying to get the money together for a Microkorg Synth thingy. They were available for about £250 until very recently, now nobody is selling them for less that £330
