Anyone know the seller?
What's there to know ? - He signed up on 29 Dec 08 and has zero feedback. Doesn't appear to be offering cash on collection either -
One of the things I remember about this show was that it was the first time I was able to watch something on TV, see that there was a recorded version available, log on to the internet on a 14.4 modem & buy it from Amazon. It was delivered within 48 hours and the whole process was painless. At the time it seemed amazing but of course it's now everyday stuff.
I still dream of getting something from Amazon within 48 hours..... -
They have a red 4 string musicman stingray for 699. Do you think this is new, genuine and in stock? It says available on the website.
If you are interested in that one i would suggest you phone and check availability (not buy off the website). Use the phone number on the website not a branch number

Welcome back fella - did notice that you hadn't been posting for a while....
Just the same as displaying goods in a shop marked up wrong.... you get them for the price marked!
Never been my understanding of this situation - always heard that a price in a shop window was not binding on the shop owner. No idea how it works on web sales - in this case the transaction has been completed other than the retailer dispatching the goods
I'm a member but rarely contribute. I just use it to bone up on certain aspects of our preferred instrument or to gauge opinions on equipment and I'm pleased to report that having done so on a regular basis, I now know that all basses and bass rigs are ..."killer" and "awesome" and...(reaches for bucket)..."sweeeeeet" - very helpful
Al, you forgot 'Kicks Ass'

Must admit I regret posting the link now... If they had listed the Ray5 in the 'Cearance' section - where they just list a store location and a phone number, instead of the main web based sales section, this situation would have been avoided. At worst would there would have been a few wasted phone calls.

Where are people getting their strings from these days
Platypus replied to warwickhunt's topic in Accessories and Misc
I've found these guys in the US to be very good, though admit the fx rate was a lot better when I last ordered - still looks like two 4 tring sets of Hi-Beams would work out at £19 each delivered. They don't have a huge range though they are some good prices: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...;hl=platypus+dr Don't know how this compares to the ebay sellers Oh yes, and some good prices for Ken Smith strings too.. -
Does anyone know if they'll ship to your house from their stores? I.E. if I wanted something from the Glasgow store, would they ship it to my house? EDIT: I'm not after that Streamer $$ BTW I'm after something much much cheaper :brow:
Ben, On the front page of the ad, it says free shipping on anything over £100 In there last big Reverb sale in Aug/Sept, I bought a US Spector 5 and they charged £10 for next day delivery
Given what the finance guys are predicting in relation to businesses going under, nothing would persuade me to part with a large amount of money to an online dealer at the moment, and the extreme cheapness of the items above would only make me even more cautious
You telling us you'd sooner deal with a Basschatter
That looks some bass for the price!!!!! I'd be a bit wary of just sending money that far though.
Well D-basser and the seller are both in Glasgow and the add says "Cash and Collection only" what's the worst that can happen?
Is it me or does it seem that those of us that managed to get basses through Reverb in August got bloody great deals! The more I hear and read, the better it seems! Mike
Not wrong, I got myself a cracking US made NS5 XL, in Quilted Maple, thanks to this tread - reminds me, I said I'd get some photo's up here...... P
