2. Just been speaking to Reverb Bristol and they have just received 7 Spector basses in. Think they were all non US though not sure about that. There was a Legend 6 string and they quoted me £319 for that after the 20% off. Soundslive are quoting £569 for the same bass. The other basses were a mixture of 4 amd 5 string. May not be quite the bargains that the ex Sound Control stock was. Would be interesting to hear what the other branches have in or on the way Basschatters fill your boots.... P
 3. Ended at £670 ! - I was expecting it to make about £600.... P
 4.
Sounds like this could be resolved by a nice trip out for Platypusses' brother with a bit of paypal flying around beforehand, assuming they have one
Crossed my mind - of course if you buy loally you then add the sales tax - think it's 5 % in Florida Kinda lost interest in the whole thing in the end, partially due to scoring one of the Reverb/Sound Contol Spector NS5's on the cheap P

 8.
Bass Central DID offer to export a new MM sterling to me a couple of years ago - I would email them and check if I was you....
Fair enough worth checking out, though I called them last month and they said they couldn't do it and said the only way they could do it would be to sell to someone within the US. Then also said the the funds to pay for it would have to originate within the US. I couldn't order from UK, using my credit card for delivery within the US (my brother lives about an hours drive away from there shop in Florida) P
 9. Well given the way the market has been moving, you could probally buy back all your old gear at a good discount ! There's prenty of bargins to be had right now.. P
 10. EB don't allow any of the US dealers to export their (new) basses. Bass Central will tell you the same if you ask ( I have in the past) P

 13.
I've been chuffed to bits with Anderton's in Guildford, and Guitar Works in Reading. Both offer magnificent service and I would recommend them without reservations. S.P.
Another fan of Andertons (Guilford) here - was in there on Saturday
 14. Sold a P bass to Deep Thought and it was as easy a transaction as you could get. Good communication, fast paymant etc. Good man to deal with... P

 16. Seems to me that the downside to this easy going returns policy is that there are a lot of returned goods in circulation. I bough a pair of Quik Lok monitor stands from them recently and it was clear that they had been used before, there were scratches around each of the screw holes and small dents where they had been overtightned. Didn't matter too much as, they were just stands and the areas weren't visible once assembled. One customers returned item is another’s 'new' item P
 17. Just to clarify - I was referring to the American Deluxe P and Jazz basses - as there is also a Fender Jazz Deluxe (active, non US) also available P
The Amerixcan Deluxe series P and J (active) are very well made and finished, far beyond the basic US P & J. I bought a new American Deluxe Precision (active P and MM sytle pickups) and build and finish was first class. Same applies to the US Deluxe Jazz. The Deluxe P's are available new for around £870 discounted, though is a very different beast to the passive single pickup P. Do bear in mind that when buying new there will always be big discounts available on any Fender, much less likely with a Lakland BTW You can get a new G&L Tribute delivered to you for not much more than £400
21.
Bugger me, is this still here? Why hasn't anyone snapped it up? I played it when Alan had it, superb bass in all respects. I wish I had the dosh, I'd have it in a shot.
I know, I was a bit suprised too. I sold a couple of other items on here recently and I thought this bass would have been the one to go first
 22. Price reduced to £265 - can send by courier for £12
