1. As far as I'm aware, this was just a preview for the new series which begins on Friday - think it will be repeated then P
  2.
Wow, looks like they've undercut everyone else by a couple of hundred - which now makes me wonder if this little excursion would be such a good idea...
Noticed the Stingray 3 eq at £749 - thats a hell of a good price for a 'Ray P
  3. Thanks for the heads up Shaun, dealt with Brian(Gingrich) at Lakland in the past, and always found him helpful. How did you order and pay for the straps ? Cheers, Paul
  4. The Bass Gallery in London charge £30 for a setup. I just had a 6 string setup done and that was the charge. They discount 20% on string prices, when having a setup done and this puts them close to online prices for strings (i think). P
  5. Thanks for the heads up on that - I've just listened to the sample clips. Some great bass playing for sure P
  6. Shuker 6 String Elite thru neck bass for sale. I bought this bass from Basschat moderator Dood last year and I’m selling as I’m not getting to play it as much as I would like. The bass is excellent condition and has just been setup by the Gallery in London last week. Spec as follows: 34" scale and 18mm spacing NECK 7 piece wenge/maple slim laminate 'neck through' with a Rio rosewood (medium) fretted board. The neck features easy to see side markers. The wings are a 3 piece laminate featuring matched slices of wenge faced with a layer of maple and a top of Buckeye Burl. If you look closely, you can see the maple as a single stripe around the edges, underneath the Burl facings. Matched covers made from the same buckeye. The headstock features the same 'sandwich' layers, front and back to match the body. HARDWARE Gotoh Black hardware. Individual MonoRail bridge pieces The nut is a 2 piece brass / plastic layer for added strength. This bass stays in tune and sustains for days. Schaller strap lock buttons are fitted. ELECTRONICS two Seymour Duncan ASB Active Soapbars fed into a EMG 18 volt 3 band preamp. (bass / Mid & Sweep / Treble / Pan / Master Volume) with added switchable gain control Here are some soundclips from a similar spec from the Shuker site: scroll down to the fifth bass (TN Elite 6) http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk/sound.htm And another picture of this very bass from the Shuker Gallery: http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk/tngal.htm Bass comes with flght case. Price is £1,000 and I'm based in Harrow Middx. Paul
  7. There's a Peavey Black Widow 15' cab with a Peavey PRO 500 head on eBay with a BIN of £385 (starting bid of £285) The PRO 500 head with it's valve pre is suppost to be very godd. Bass Player mag included it in its products of the year a couple of years ago. Bass Guitar gave it a very favourable review too http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...cTODAY.m238.lVI P
I think a Peavey Black Widow 1x15" would sound the dogs. I had one in my Combo 300, which had 210w going into it and it was really load, punchy and smooth. I think you could get one for quite a good price on the bay or maybe on here? Cheers Steve.
8. I'd settle for his talent - basses you can buy p
Check out his files on Youtube. I wish (1) I had his talent, and (2) his collection of classic basses! 9.
i'm not getting on with the Fralins i'm afraid.
Now that's something you don't hear every day ! P

    Wateroftyne

Bought an Acoustic Research amp from WOT recently and found him a decent fella to deal with ! Head arrived, as described and very well packaged. P
  11. If not in stock I'd be a bit weary of quoted delivery times. Thoman appear to have been up from when quoting, many other retailers are not. I waited 5 weeks for an American Deluxe Precision from Quitarteq, despite them quoting a few days initially and then constantly adding a few more. P
  12. EBS HD 350 head in excellent condition mounted in 2u rack case (case still has labels on) Great sounding, powerfull amp head. I'm selling for £ 480 I'm based in Harrow Middx P
  13. Looking good Jake - how's it all sounding ? P
  14. PM ent... P
Recently purchased off our very own Bass Ferret its still in good condition. Since I bought my Berg rig I havent got much need for this and its 1x12 partner has now gone as has my EBS head. £200 or I will keep it for noodling around on. This is a good deal I think for a great little cab. Steve
15. Cheers Ped, Just been back to play those clips again - very impressive, good to know they were recorded using the Pod, I assumed they were done with another interface. Guess there'll be a few of us here checking out the Pod over the weekend P
Hi mate, I do that in the studio - either by USB or the DI. My brother is planning on using V drums on the next album, and my guitar player just got an X3 pod so we are going to do the whole thing via USB, and have called the band USB for this album (it changes every time) The results are fantastic - all the clips I posted on the first page were recorded like this. Cheers ped
16. Good thread guys.... I bought a POD xt bean from a Basschatter, whose name I can't recall and its pretty much being used as a paper weitgh ever since ! I had an initial dabble and then got distracted with something else. Reading through the comments here has just prompted me go and put it to good use. Does anybody here use the pod for recording direct to PC, via USB ? P
  17. Fantastic looking bass BTW Andy, think your decking must be the most featured backdrop on Basschat P
  18. 'Fair enough, you'd obviously considered that one fully.. P
Thanks for looking in to that. The only problem i have is in using my Amex card and the Gallery dont accept Amex. I did want to get it for them (as i did for a few things) but my big purches go on my Amex card. Also. £887 is more than i should be affording, I'm pretty sure the Gallery wont mtch that And that includes postage as well. I cant get to the BC in the near future. They didnt match the Bass Centre when i was looking for a LMII. Not a slur on the The Gallery, just that money is tight. I ended up getting it form the Gallery anyway as i didnt want to order it from the BC but i paid £60 more for for it. Also im capable of doing my own set up (based on every Lakland ive played they dont need much).
19. Dave, I know it's after the event etc. ( mind you not completely, if you invoke the Thoman 10 day return clause) The Thoman price is £ 887 against the list price at the Gallery of £1025 and as Alex form the Gallery just confirmed yesterday, in another thread, they will always try and match another price. Maybe not all the difference, however you would have had your DD set up exactly as you wanted it and seen it before collecting it and known where to go it you ever wanted something done in the future. You are based in London after all… 'Still not too late to make that call Good luck what the bass whatever you decide to do P
  20. Just spotted this over on BBC News..... Can't seem to post the link at the moment though..
  21.
ive just paid the deposit on a shuker with darkstars!!
Good call ! With Darkstar equipped basses being so few and far between, getting one fitted to a custom bass seems like an excellent idea to me P
  22. Thanks for the heads up re Stanly Clark - what day did you book for ? P
  23. I put an add on here for a similar cab - an EBS Proline 410 - about 6 months ago priced at £350 . The cab, was in excellent condition and the add included a large clear pic. There were numerous posts stating what a bargin it was and how good the cab was, it still took a few weeks to sell. Sometimes its like that, funny thing was that I had bought that cab a couple months before that on eBay. I bit the starting price of £300 and expected to be outbid as the auction had 6 days left to run. Had forgotton about it until I received the email a week later stating that I had won ! I'd really bid on a whim and used the cab at home a a while and then sold it here at cost when you include my currier costs P
youre a madman for selling it at that i bought a new ebs classic 410 for 500, and this is the proline, which are like 750, am i right ? either way, im gutted i didnt see this before, hah.
24. I asked Stuart how the book was coming along, (in response to a post he made on the Marcus Miller thread here on Basschat) a few days ago and he replied saying it would be available in April. Definitely looking forward to that P
  25.
Damn, I was gonna write one of those... Stu
hey Stu, how's the Chic book coming along ? P
