  1. Can't begin to think how Mick, Kieth and Ronnie are feeling...
  2. Yep... but they are usually quite thin... 😉
  3. Never Mind The Butter... Can't Belive It's not Bollocks...
  4. @Velarian Any joy on the neck hole dowling?
  5. @MaudeDidnt you have a Cruiser By Crafter P on the go?
  6. Think @Reggaebass had something similar a while back... thru neck... and those fret markers jog my memmory - brass? Found It...
  7. Always been a fan of the Japs... #Nori41
  8. Ozrics... Erpland (Again...) It just hit's the spot for an hour's lie down on the setee... After a bit of World Superbikes, and before a i do a Bacon Sarnie, with a Guinness and then it's British Superbikes.... Sunday
  9. 70's Mojo right there, with a hint of after market modification... Thats a YES from me... I've not seen one like it...
  10. I'd hang on to the ally pick guard... and save yaself a few quid... 0000 wire wool should clean up the detritus but leave the patina... without scratching it. Not so common as a Gold, think it would look quite unique, and keep a lighter overall appearance on natural wood and look like a 'smile' over a more usual 'sulk' of the heavier looking black plate. Offer it up for a pic...
  11. Nice bit of 'Guinness Flow' in the middle... So what's it to be?.. Oil, Stain or Paint?
  12. @LukeFRC Luthiers Warehouse via the bay... then dealt direct.
  13. @such Nice... I'm having to make do with some cheapy cream covers for the Ex Sire Pickup kindly donated by @Rumple Got some cheap Jazz Knobs, (Large for V, Small for T...) and some Strat Knobs both sets in Cream to choose from... trying to track down a cream thumb rest, or go matching wood.
  14. Try 1/8" dowl... If a nice fit then all good... the thread area cut in the neck will help 'carry' the PVA wood glue along the dowl length... possibly better than a round/round fit that might wipe most of the glue off. Nut... I'd Fill 'n File to get it all up and running... Neck relief, poss neck shim, action, prefered strings, then new nut in the future to suit neck set up and prefered strings...
  15. Try 1/8" dowl... If a nice fit then all good... the thread area cut in the neck will help 'carry' the PVA wood glue along the dowl length... possibly better than a round/round fit that might wipe most of the glue off.
  16. What are they, 5mm ish? 3/16" dowl fit? or drill em slightly... get em nice n round n fresh... either metric or imperial for some 1/4" or 6mm wood dowl to plug... Cut, glue n sand... Then re-drill.
  17. I got some leather pics... nice tone on the acoustic with flats... I also have some wooden pics... Other than the above it's the JD Jazz III in nylon... a softer sound, not as harsh, scratchy or edgy as tortex...
  18. I like that... if that was a Jazz body that would be epic-on-the-eye... offset body with the slanty pups... rear rout too... my fav! Oh! and i likes a Strat Knob... thats got me thinking Cream Strat Knobs, or Jazz Knobs to match the Cream Split P Covers on my Bitsa Build... ebay here i come!
  19. Great news on the neck! What ya thinking about the body?... Natural Wood, Stain or a Solid Colour? For me, It's screaming BLACK to go with that Maple neck... or an Aubergine Purple off Black... You thinking Rattle Cans? That scratchplate? Is/was it white plastic? looks like it could be anodised metal, hard to tell from the pics... but i think that should also stay... so many P-a-likes have slightly different shapes or screw spacings... Keep the bridge, that way ya sure the mounting holes line up... but as mention you could change the sadles for threaded for a bit more of a vintage look, maybe have em off something like this for £15?... https://www.northwestguitars.co.uk/vintage-style-4-string-bass-bridge-with-spiral-saddles/ @KiOgon P bass loom - Quality Pots n Jack - is a good idea for £25ish - Got one for my Budget Bitsa P
  20. leave it... especialy the neck... it looks played..
  21. Watching with interest... also undertaking a Bitsa Build... albeit on more of a budget... Your bits look branded, mine more name-a-likes... Know what ya mean about cost, I could if got a Harley B or Squier Affinity for the money... and it isn't finished yet, and you prolly a new Squier CV. As for the picknguard? I dont do Tort,It looks to 'Busy' for my eyes, so I'd go Black... I won't have such a dilema as mine is a rear rout. Good luck with the build.
  22. Zoom ?
  23. It all arrived by post via the 'bay... String-Run looks alright-ish... although I might swap the string for elastic for a bit more twang...
  24. Machine Heads, String-a-like Strings, Sandberg-a-like String Tree and Fender-a-like Decal... Dimarzio-a-like Cream Pickup Covers and Gotoh-a-like Bridge... Sanding, oiling and/or waxing of the body and neck next... What ya think?.. Any comments, advice, guidance and pointers would be most welcome... I'm thinking of a Thumb Rest... Cream or Matching Wood?..
  25. Had one of the list (Steady!) of Spacecowboys odds n sods... Sent swiftly...
