  1. https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2021/01/30/jackson-guitars-unveils-pro-series-spectra-basses/ More than a passing resemblance to Ibanez? A bit more 'Cort' in the Jazz Bump Body than the SR... Slight Mod on the Headstock... Same Pickups and Bridge and Very Similar finishes... 'Parts Bin Special' out the same factory? I thought Fender owned Charvel / Jackson?
  2. Did you buy or pay for a 'that 'll do'? If in doubt, send it back... and soonish. otherwise there will always be the nag in the back of ya head and carry on looking...
  3. Davee... So, did ya go for the Combo? If so, what do you think?

  5. I'm not from Colchester... As there are no existing scratch plate holes i'd go No Plate and enjoy ya extra 30% free wood... If there were holes it would be clear or black for me... I'm not realy a Tortoise kinda guy... looks muddy messy to my eye... screams 'could do with a good clean' Quite possibly due to me being colour blind and the mix of colours, i may percieve it quite different from others?
  6. sorry, too much adrenalin!... 😉 Is that bottled, in powder form or rolled? - 'prolly best left unanswered... We shall wait for the book! These are great. many thanks
  7. Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair - Arctic Monkeys
  8. Instead of foam could you not use springs under the pickup ears? I likes a rear route... Nice wood body... Danish oil rather than stain? I would be having a word with the body manf regarding the P route. what make and model pickup were they routed for? You may need some extra clearance if you want the halves of the P to 'crown' angle up, then down to follow the strings, following the fretboard radius. how about the J fit?
  9. I likes the SR's mine is 2010... Recomend ya check out the Ibanez Site, and the archive catalogues on the support pages for spec... SR Barts are Split Coil in a Soapbar... So reverse P... Bit P bit PJ... eBay one @£400 is 2018 https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/detail/sr600_07.html http://www.hoshinogakki.co.jp/pdf/ibanez/catalog/2018EU.pdf The RD looks more 'Rayesque shape and with a Music Man style Bucker at the bridge, Maybe Jazz style but poss stack wound bucker at the front. eBay one Maybe 2015 from serial number Dont spose ya fancy a spot of Strange? Ibby EDA900?
  10. http://www.johnbirchguitarsuk.com Maybe worth sending him a copy of the pics..

  14. I've the smaller MB15... Great little Gutsy Amp... £35 S/H As mentioned, Modern Channel with Compressor, Classic Channel with Drive, Foot-switchable on the 30, also adds a Voice Shift for the Mid and FX loop... Presume you found the manual: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://bentleymusic.com/files/Marshall_MB30_user_manual.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwi6i6jJgLXuAhXHQEEAHfj-CwQQFjACegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw0ADX3x-Sq_nINHytr90IUG and the MB Range Brochure: http://music.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/marshall_amplification/mb_series.html?p=2 For info...
  15. https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/model/sr/ New Models? Ibby now list a new SR600, Old ones of which there were a couple of variants, mainly without Mid Freq Switch, 2 position Switch (like my 2010) then 3 Position Switch. like this https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/detail/sr600_07.html : Ibanez do some lovely flamboyant finishes, and some lovely wood on the more expensive models - but i just love the plain natural... was the only finish available on these variants. The 400 has a different neck, and Powerspan pickups and is basically a pretty SR300 - (QM Quilted Mapel top...) The 500 and 600 has the longer tang neck made from different woods and different bridge. The 500 gets Okoume body n plainish finish, with Bartolini pups The 600 gets Ash in a fancier finish and swaps the Barts for Nords... Neck profiles are all the same Ibby Skinny...
  16. Anyone near Shepperton... HB50 in Red... listed at £60... Gonna be half price with all the import tax bollox... If only it were closer... https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/harley-benton-vt-series-bass/1395284593

  20. Why bother changing the Upstairs Downstairs... (Tuner direction?) Ibby do both on their 5ers... worth running it up as-is first?... then seek a replacent tuner?
  21. Seen a couple of basses recently with a Strat Jack Socket... looks good.
  22. Had a nice sit down with a Coffee (and a Tesco's Mrs Molly's Digestive Chocolate Biscuit Bar... £1.20 for 18... Bargain! https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/300472638) and watched the Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense DVD... not seen it in a while... He's a strange one...
