  1. Give it a try, buy one separate, then you can go std if you don't like it... Earnie Ball do a wound 0.16 / 0.18 if ya use super/reg slinkies, to match...
  2. Nice. Have you tried a wound Third?.. Warmer tone for higher pitch. I always feel a 0.16 or 0.18 a bit thick for a plain. Wounds feel and 'work' so much better.
  3. Loves an SR, got a few, Son has a SR306
  4. Tuner.pdf Instructions I've got the Joyo and Guitar Man Copies / Variants. Bomb Proof and a handy 9v Out, also works from the battery on mine... useful to power a batt-less mini pedal.
  5. Depends on whats to do after. Check out the heat gun approach on youtube.
  6. Nice... And not a pic offered-up?.. Some people... Think it needs a little csk to the mounting holes...
  7. A light sigh of 50's elegance... nice.
  8. ^ Not been the same since Brexit... there, said it...
  9. Gonna be a bit of open heart surgery for pics n spec of pots... It's Phillips O'clock.
  10. Welcome to the machine... and beware the DoI
  11. The Real Deal Composite / Carbon go for £€$STUPID... It's an Icon. For use and smoother tuning I recommend fitting F4-10M thrust washers to the tuning screws (as a replacement for the 3 nylon washers on each, but keep em as original bits) like on my Hohner B2 - 4 for about a tenner.
  12. Does the same thing happen with the neck pup on full, and rolling the bridge vol down? It's normal as the pups are wired in parallel. Enjoy your GSR180.
  13. Open G? If raising the saddle a knats don't cure it, try a bit of paper in the nut slot - low nut..
  14. Presume wired parallel, I wonder if turning the J round would help... I'm a Passive Ibby Fan with 4 SRs Toneriders shouldn't need help in the Tone Department from a cheap pre. Quality VBT Loom?
  15. Simple-ish... Got a pic of the inside the control cavity? 2 Position Switch, Couple of Quid...
  16. Welcome to the Machine. Aphex Twin... Nice, and love the T Bird.
  17. Not wishing to 'Hi-Jack' the thread - see what i did there?.. 🤣 I got a B2 Basket Case for £Low on a whim... Strip Down and Clean Up of the bridge, Tuner Thrust Washers fitted, pots were seized, so simple Vol and 3 way selector. If you have the file and are about to press Play, how much for a pair in Black? Ta Muchly
  18. What, the Walker Bro's?... 🤣
  19. Enjoy and carry on... Have fun
  20. Flatwound Strings have a more prominant 'Fundamental' than Rounds, and thus when 'seen' by the narrower magnetic field of a Single Coil rather than the parallel coils of a conventional humbucker give a more articulate note, than the more smeared mix of Rounds seem by two rows or magnets/windings. 2 of my Passivated Ibbys, an SR300 with Maida Vale Stack Coil pickups and a SR400 with Dimarzio Twin Coil Jazz pickups, along with the 38mm Nut and sleek neck give a great Jazz Bass-esq playing experience with a lovely worn pebble body and without that funny lump. My 2 Actual Jazz Bodied Basses are PJ's. Recommend you (your friend...) give Flats a whirl, and Adagio Flats at £18ish are a real good toe-in-the-water place to start. I have em on a few...
  21. These jack sockets are great... https://puretonetechnologies.com/products/pure-tone-multi-contact-1-4-output-jack
  22. Check AliExpress for 13 hole pickguards, some funky colours, swirls and pearls, and maybe hardware, Gyker etc.
  23. Dirty Love - Motorhead I'll see your FZ and raise you a Motorhead...
  24. I'd msg @Andyjr1515 for his take on the matter, and glue choice. Its a crack rather than a break, so no real alignment and angle issues, plus a nice bit of extra volute wood for strength in the vacinity... ASAP While the tension is still on, some titebond(?) or most suitable - be nice and warm and runny this weather - to wick in all the open gap. Rather than looking to open the gap again for the glueing. Then off with the tension and a good clamp... (i've seen inner tubes wrapped around things, then pumped up to apply conforming pressure if no decent clap and packing) - how long? 48hrs? As mentioned previously, no lacquer finish, so a little bit of sanding, wire wool 0000 to remove any glue ooze and a dab of oil or wax!
