Had similar when swapping from a AC blend to a MN blend on the Ibby. May be what you are facing? Wires needed swapping over.

Ibanez and the SR... evolution not reveloution. That super comfy worn pebble shape body... and that great SR neck... subtle headstock shape... totaly boring but i'd say near perfect. If only they had a std passive P or PJ in the SR range like in the GIO's. Think @donslow sorted a SR300 filled and re-routed to convert to a PJ some time back... just the ticket.

Any advice on sorting neck alignment would be most welcome... here is where i'm at... Body back from the cabinet makers... A bit of the edges of the neck pocket and a nice snug for the neck. Unfortunatly alignment is a little out... Bridge on center line of the 2 piece join, looks center at the neck but might not be center down the length of the body. Moving the bridge a little to the E left by a couple of mm aligns the elastic strings over the pickup poles a bit better... Neck / Body join looks like this left, right and bottom... A bit of sponge in the neck pocket to lift it up... Needs a little of the left side of the pocket a mil, mil 'n half or so from the front tapering to as-is at the heel... which should also get the neck flush-ish on the bottom right of the pocket rather than sticking out as in the pic Alignment should then be just about sorted... Fingers crossed! Bit aprehensive but need to stick some sandpaper with double sided to a bit if wood to keep squarish and go steady. All is not lost... Worst case i'll go for the authentic pick holder style neck pocket gap that was prevalent and popular under the 70's QC.. I really like the body... and the neck looks nice for budget!

Would it not change the impedance between bass and amp, and maybe help drive a long cable... bit like an active buffer?

Due to postage costs v purchase costs a quick look on Gumtree is always worthwhile... Just scored a Marshall MB30 with Roqsolid cover for £40... twas 60 miles and an hour and a bit away... bit of a jaunt M25 n M3 but can easy do an hour trying to get 15 miles across London! Passed on the MB15 to my eldest's other half for cheap, so i got a bargain upgrade with cover for a few quid 'n a drive!
