  1. "Whats Brown and sounds like a Bell?..." DUNG! (Monty Python) As you were...
  2. GLOCKENCLANG... What a great name... 😃
  3. Sounds like a plan... Have you got a multimeter to check continuity? If the grounding plates are in contact in the pickup cavity... and then grounded in the control cavity, earth to pot to body n bridge then the extra thru hole link may not be needed but should do no harm.. I used screening paint and used a cotton bud to paint the link hole and checked with a multimeter. Need more pics mind... Did the nut tidy up OK after the build up?
  4. Attack of the 50' Woman - The Tubes
  5. Having previously (tried to) play guitar a long long time ago... a pick is second nature... Jim Dunlop Jazz III mainly. But like the sound and connection of fingers on flats... but can't match the sort of speed and regularity i can get with a pick. Also for fingers i like the tone more towards the end of the fret board and likes a thumb rest just after and before the pickup, rather than fingers over the pickup...
  6. Classic... Looks so cool. Just can't get that the scratchplate doesnt follow the contours of the lower body better... Are Ric plates traditionaly single ply? I'd have to get a spare plate BWB or WBW to tie in the binding would look so nice and have a go triming the edge on the right between the 3 screws if enough overlap with the cavity. Whats the Headstock n TRC look like?
  7. Nice.. What bridge is that?.. Subtle Lump of Form and Function...
  8. TC Electronics..? Drop em a nice email with a pic of ya rig in action, hopefully they will help out! https://www.talkbass.com/threads/tc-electronic-rh750-broken-knobs.1451926/?amp=1583722213 One of the white knobs on my oldish Marshall combo split, they were kind enough to send me a replacement
  9. Rain Live - Quo (For Alan...)
  10. Part of my introduction to music... Down the Dustpipe Golden Hour LP and then remember getting If You Can't Stand The Heat on Cassette, playing it on a little mono portable till the batteries went flat and the tape ram slow in the nack of my Mums Mk1 Escort... Holiday on the Isle of Wight. Down Down, Deeper and Down... Too Soon? Gonna have some Fort Five Hundred Times, and remember a great live version of Rain from some rock compo, Axe Attack or Metal for Muthers 80s thing! And as already mentioned always came across as such a genuine and gentle fella...
  11. If in doubt... back it goes. It wont get any better. And you didnt buy a make do. If it was purely cosmetic then a discount could be negotiated, but this usually only a couple of quid off. so i'd have a new one.
  12. There was a thread some time back about inexpensive flatwounds... A shout for the Adagio 45-100 Regular Tension Flats Offer around £13 on the Bay if anyone is considering giving flats a try... Got em on a couple of electrics and are lovely on the Acoustic Bass.
  13. Nice bit of Ibby... I have the SR600. Lovely Worn Pebble Body, Great Necks. GLWS
  14. Neck Relief... fret at 1st and where the neck joins the body... 16th - should be about a credit card-ish gap to the string at 7 and 9 fret wires... Nut Height... fret at 3rd... should be a slight 'tap' to the 1st fret wire... So your numbers look good...
  15. Secret...
  16. Quick shout for @KiOgon... Helped with a wiring queary in going VBT... Both my GSR 200's are now sorted... and kept the PHAT II EQ as i likes it.
  17. Not strictly Reggae... Eldest (17) is off to see The Specials at the Roundhouse tonight... They are a fan of The Clash, BAD, Punkish Reggae stuff, I'm sure they will have a great time.
  18. They always look like they are smiling!
  19. Nice... Most PJ get the 3rd Pot in the Jack Hole... With the jack relegated to the edge. Didnt fancy the stacked pot option? But nice to seea variation of the cause...
  20. Nice... What are the 'Crop Circles' for... some little toggle switches?
  21. Nice... Nice touches with the Dark oil finish, High mass bridge with Brass saddles and Wood knobs... Gives it that 'evolved over time look'... Although i'm a 'Thumbs on Top' kinda guy...
  22. Vinyl Records Sound Better... NO Argument! Rega Planer 3, RB300, Audio Technica ATF5 MC with the Stilton Solid Body Mod v's Arcam Delta 170 Transport / Arcam Multi Bit Black Box... not the Bitstream bollox... All in the loft! But... Digtal is Simple and way way better value for money... now my listening is done via ripping CDs to a little Sony NWZ USB Stick Style MP3 player... Simple...
  23. 1/8" (3mm) thinner maybe... 42mm?
