1. Aguilar DB cab and AG head .
2. Sparks 'This Town....' Fleetwood Mac 'Don't Stop' U F O ' Delilah'/'Boston Tea Party' Alex Harvey Band Lynyrd Skynyrd . I'll leave it there for now
3. When I started to learn properly,I started to attempt 'pop/slap/tap etc. Bought a few sets of cheap Trace Elliot strings at a music fair , which went dull pretty quickly. My first 'proper' bass was a Washburn Status, so I was used to the bright twangy sound. I was under the impression that when you gigged , you should always play with new strings. Sometime later , I realised that I shouldn't change strings so often now ,and I leave them on as long as I can . I gave up the pop/slap also
4. Bass effects units that are easy to use and program.
5. I asked the same question as the o.p a couple of years ago.I think it was Musky who sent me the pic of an Aguilar DB112 . So, I got that and the Aguilar AG500 sc . I've not been gigging ,but it does look good especially with the Tele Bass.
6. Had the same model. Shame not many people know about theses awesome combo's
7. Yeah, they were awesome as expected. Seen 'em a few times now,and never disappoint. Doug only used the 12 string for one song tho'(pray for me).(not easy keeping that in tune) Looked like a Schecter Tele style bass for the rest of the set. Top gig
8. Not many people seem to know about them on here
9. Should be good.
10. When I saw the first picture of the black bass, I thought ..ugh! Now it is green ,it's amazing! Awesome !
11. I always think Kubicki = Stu Hamm/ Status = Mark King/ Vigier= Randy Coven and of course Billy Sheehan has the Attitude. I like the fact that Billy really cares about the quality of his basses and it's not just another signature model etc.
12. I remember when I turned up for band rehearsal ,with my new Aggie setup. Mr.Drums thought tht the cab looked 'like something out of a 50's coffee shop'. Once he heard it , he loved it . Aggie rocks!
13.
Hmmm.... interesting. I'd never live it down if I bought a Tele... after the grief I gave my mate for buying a Telecaster. But looking at it... it's alright innit!?!
When I first got my Tele, I was a bit put off by what my then band members were saying about it. However , I love it . I also think that the sound varies so much from flatwounds or Roundwounds. That 'thud' sounds like no other.
14. Dean Stylist perhaps ? (mine's yellow) or a Telebass?
15. Okay, I commute daily to and from central London by bus and train. I have had various 'phones in he past on my ipod. What I'm looking for now is something like noise reducing/noise cancelling . Can't really stand the sound of bawling babies etc. Unfortunately my budget can't stretch much more than £80.00 I don't like the in -ear design , but with summer coming , I don't want anything too heavy. Any ideas?
16. I wonder if, you could achieve the same result on a cheaper bass by taking it to SI.M.S (not simpsons) and get a similar paint job. It would probably work out cheaper....
17. Is it April 1st??
18. I wouldnt gig with a band that you don't feel have learnt the set thoroughly . If I weren't sure off them by now, I'd probably quit. sounds like they're holding you back.
19. God , I feel alot better looking at your responses . Looks like I 'll keep the Aguilar setup (funds permitting). Seems a waste after getting it all setup in the first place. Cheers
20. congratultions! Good to know from experience ,you won't have to go through that again
