1.
As much as I can appreciate his guitar playing, I don't think that his albums are any good and I certainly wouldn't want to go out for a beer with him.....
Malmsteen is arrogant .tick. King of arpeggios.tick. Albums poor.tick. However, have seen him at music fair at wembley a few years back.Arrogant etc.very comical without meaning to be. Saw him headline Hammy Apollo a few years ago, when schenker lost the plot and cancelled, leaving malmsteen to headline. Malmsteen rocked,) absolute ly brilliant. Saw himat Astoria 2(the small one) shortly after not long before it got demolished. What some people don't realise, malmsteen has as many imitators as Eddie van halen. By the way m Bonham is the nuts.)
2.
Pics to follow this evening (over a few beers). Got a rehearsal this morning with 3 other people who have not played together before, all been learning the songs at home and will be putting them together for the first time. Hope it works out as I'm missing playing live since leaving my previous ban in January.
I was in a band that started the same way a few years ago. Good luck
3. You need to use speakers/ speaker monitors IMO before you can make judgement. As with most presets, you have to mess around alot to get decent sounds. Give yourself more time and RTFM,)
4. Johnny winter excellent. Can't watch now,Cher ??
5. Charlie Saniels is a bit mean tho'.wouldnt upset him
6. Missed half of first programme. Will probably watch over weekend. However, I'm watching a compilation of various acts. Very hit and miss. More miss tbh. Is that Justin lee Collins in a white suit?? Jim Dandy ( Dave Lee Roth ripped him off somewhat) Rambling man??. Something your grandad would play when he comes home from the pub.awful country stuff. Where's the rock?
7. I've got one of these.) this came out in mid90s , when Bass effects were properly made for Bass players. Good reviews. Took me ages to get to grips with it. RTFM a lot . This was made around the same time as the Bass Whammy, which I haven't got,( Lots of stuff on this unit.great fun. I intend to use it over the weekend. Have a bump.)
8. Okay, band broke up ages ago. Recently, I've been playing stuff through my studio monitors . However,I still have my Aguilar amp /cab sitting in corner of room. I have thought about selling , but would miss them if they went. I live in an upstairs maisonette , but am worried that placing cab on floor would be too noisy for people below.floor is concrete. One of the things I was thinking of, is placing cab on a large stand or something, fairly high off the floor. Or should I just sell it, and stick to studio monitors? What do you think?
9. There was slso one in salmon pink.) I normally hate pink, but this was nice.
10. That should've said tube strike.(poxy predictive text)!!
11. Nice job so far. I own a wine colour( same as the original olour here) Nearly got the green , but as there was a tune strike and many shops in soho were closed , i settled for the wime colour. Want a yellow one. Have only seen one.
12. John mayall Darkness frontman
13. Obviously , there are too many knob ends to choose from. Perry Farrell of Janes addiction hasn't been mentioned yet. Had the misfortune of seeing them at the Astoria. He gets carried onto the stage , eating grapes. I left 5 mins after. Frontman from Mordred. Meat oaf (saw him at knebworth). Paul Stanley of kiss. Lou reed.Bonio obviously.
14. Mustang Sally , brown eyed girl
15. He's a very close friend of mine. And an awesome guitar player too.He sells loads of spares . He got me the bass in my avatar
16. i used to play this in tehearsals many moons ago. The tricky part , was when the guitar solo finished.
17. Hope he has a good soak! Saw him at shepherd bush a few years back. Truly awful! Eleanor rigby as an encore?? Tedium, pure tedium
18. I plug my bass onto toneport ux1, which does work with logic/garageband etc. I have m audio oxygn keyboard, but mever thought about plugging the bass onto it. Only been recording a few weeks , despite owning the keyboard for yesrs
19. Get the Drummer to carry it.
20. Hofner Violuin basses...ugh Kramer Puke..I love headless basses but my friend's one felt horrible. Ow my hands! Hate the 'sting' Teles .. but love my mudthumper. Not keen on most sunburst basses
21. Used to play Sabs to death years ago. There wasn't much metal around back in the day. I think vol 4 is a masterpiece. Masterof Reality, paranoid Sabbath Bloody Sabbath , 1st album, are must haves. Side 1 of Sabotage is probably the best of all imho. Couldn't stand them with Dio or anyone else, apart from the odd single. Zep for me were remarkable, but only for a few albums imho. And they're not metal Thankfully there are many more bands out there, so I rarely listen to the two bands mentioned these days.
22. Olkay, I have 2 setups. One for ipad, one for mac mini. For the mac mini: Line 6 ux1 ( includes pod farm) Plugged into studio monitors. Loads of virtual amps. And cabs here. You can also use garageband. For ipad I use irig into either garageband or free GK App ( better than amplitube?) With either of these setups, it doesnt matter what bass i use . If , or should i say when line 6 do the podfarm/gearbox equivalent for ipad , i will get that too . In other words, i think you dont need another bass,)
23. Everything has been said. However , you may want to get the seller extradited over here to face trial for selling shoddy goods,)
