6.
Can't you just write the Midi data in to trigger the sound/patch ? [until you get the Keyboard sorted] Garry
Sorry Garry. I don't know how. Thanks for help tho'. I do like the simple format of GarageBand,,where the drums are there plug my bass in etc. But what i want to do is play one of the apps (ie moog) with it . Maybe I have to record synth app seperate and drag saved file to GarageBand if it takes it.
7. Just heard a track on an online station from them. It must be 5 years plus since 10,000 days. Maybe the bass whammy is being repaired.)
8. Sorry for confusion. Apparently , to plug a USB into an iPad , you need to buy an apple camera kit. Anyway, what I'm trying to do is find a way of using cool synths effects that I've downloaded, and Use them simultaneously with GarageBand (or similar app)
9. Gosh, looks like most of you are stumped too.)
10. I. Bought the iPad because of the touch screen operation. Most of the time it's great
11. If I want to Play keyboard app on iPad , do I get camera kit and select midi in GarageBand? What I'm trying to do,is use a moog for example in GarageBand. Please advise Cheers
12. Oh my god! Just found the answer. How dumb am I..) GarageBand rocks
13. What's happened to the pointy bits? Have a bump.)
14. Okay, I have GarageBand ( no bass amps). I have amplitude ,and it all works in my monitors. I have played around with GB ,and am impressed by what you can do. What I would like to do , is play my bass , with the GarageBand drums at the same time. Can it be done? I think it can on the normal version of GB. Also, I have downloaded some cool synth apps , and would like to use them in GarageBand the same way. Please could someone advise me how to record song ideas? While all these apps and the iPad look lovely, I don't want complication. Please advise .) Cheers
15. I'm on here a lot too.having said that, I can't do it at work, so instead of watching brain dead tv I browse here most evenings. I ve run out of inspiration again for about a year. Just recently got iPad to regain some inspiration. As for yo EH : I advise you to relax. Don't beat yourself up about your learning of songs. I also think that you could either see a teacher on a weekly basis if you can afford. Or you could get DVD not too advanced of your favourite bass players. Or you could leave the bass alone for a few weeks, and see if you miss it. Hope it works out
16. I'd imagine you'd have to get the nut removed and another put on in it's place. Also , you may have to give the truss rod a slight adjustment .
17. Okay.. Got a little worried when a I connected bass to irig. I had to Go to amplitude app to confirm I was using loudspeakers. The Kaossilator was working but the guitar output wasn't. It's all sorted now. Played my steinberger through the gk free app. It was okay but noisy. I then went into amplitude , and despite playing through a Marshall stack , there was not as much noise as the gk app. I switched the amp off. However, when doing this , there was still sound. !?! I then went to GarageBand. That was good, but there are no bass amps available! If I could buy one, I would. A bit ignorant from apple. I may purchase the bass amp from amplitude .There is only one. It amazes me that, despite the products telling us to "plug your guitar or bass" , the bass is overlooked. Anyway, the pod farm has to stay with the mac mini, now moved to the living room. I am pleased at the results of the irig so far. I believe line6 will release the equivalent of podfarm in2012 and that will probably be best for us bass players.
18. Love the look of 'em, but too much fiddling around , getting an average sound at best . Eden nemesis combo, blows it out of the water. Aguilar also . What I love about the aggy and Eden, Is that there is minimum fiddling with the tone controls...unlike the trace. And of course , the weight".....
19. Xmas update ! Got some leads from Maplin. Setup will be:iPad , irig, studio monitors. Briefly plugged irig into pad, and played the Korg Kaossilator which sounded great. Will try bass later. If Gk app sounds ok, I will download full version. Will let you know how it goes. Merry Christmas
20. Mmmm could be a sale nxt year.)
21. Okay, we all love our basses.whether its 1or more . It's seems that (and I could be wrong) guitarists Have the amp that goes with the axe. They have valves , tubes etc. With bass, until recent times , it was like carrying a herd of buffalo to a gig big or small venues. Then ,as it's a bass amp , more vibration means more chance of repair.(IMHO) Anyway , after getting fed up with the band situation, I wonder if it's worth keeping my Aguilar set up. At the moment it's just stuck at the top of the bed. As my brother is a lodger for the unforseeable future, I'm not sure when it will be displayed properly .shame as its a nice tweed cab. Am I getting too attracted to the amp, or should I jut plug in to the iPad from now on? Do you display your amps?
22. Yeah, think I'll. Do that . Cheers
