1. I'm up for a black one. Red would be cool at some stage too
2. Look lovely, way too heavy, and difficult to get a sound that was constantly good in the various places I've rehearsed /played in. Compared to the Eden or Aguilar, which gives a great sound everytime.
3. aaaaaarrrrgh! One of the worst looking amps I've ever seen. That blue looks like some horrible industrial colour from the '50s
4. There was me thinking his ears were alight....Great tune
5. I think it's best to let us know what bass(s) you use . Also what head are you using. etc.
6. See a teacher, or get an instructional dvd of someone who inspires you
7. If you are unsuccessful in your search , Graham Noden in denark street could make one up for you
8. Since you been gone, hotel California by the way. Off the top of my head. What annoys me about certain band members: they suggest songs they like . They get impatient when you haven't mastered. the whole song . They don't realise how some songs on bass are more than. Root notes. Then the singer or guitarist Bodge it live , then expect me to tune down... Just remembered sweet child of mine, and any foo fighters
9. I used to go to Rockbottom for band rehearsals in the 90's. Shame
10. on a slight tangent, I was staying at a friends place for the weekend. My friends wife thought about playing guitar. She hasn't boyhered about it to be honest . I can't play guitar either, however when I picked up her cheap sqier(salmon pink) I was amazed at how good the quality was. Got me thinking that sqiers are seriously well made instruments. A guitar friend of mine raved about them in the'80s
11.
Wrestler on a Bear is kinda cool...
What's that bear doing to him ?
12. Agree with claypool , Lemmy and Cliff, but you can't forget Tom Araya. Somebody post a pic please
13. What you could do, is try to get hold of an old Bass mag. If you have a scanner, you could scan page to your desktop. Then print, and put into a nice frame. He has been in the press a lot over the last couple of years , in magazines such as classic rock etc.
14. Best to take it to the tech. It could be the jack, or the active circuitry of the pickups. I had a similar problem some time ago. Had to take it to a tech twice . The second time , it was tested in shop everyday fo a whole week to find out the root of the problem
15.
Yeah I've been considering those ones. The only problem is that it ain't easy to find to try before buy. But from what i read these ones have a very high signal and huge low end frequency.
I know there are later versions (squire ?) which will be cheaper than original. Haven't tried a later model, and don't know your budget. However, if you think of Dawn French falling down the stairs, you will understand how heavy the sound is
16. Someone here is selling an Eden Nenesis .(Not me but I used to have one. ) Great amps.250 watts. Highly recommended
17. status or steinberger
18. I've got tweed(head is brown) but I do like the green. Funny thing is I think the brown headcase goes really wellwith the tweed
19. Well , I got a Dean cabbie bass. Didn't cost a kings ransom tho' It's rare and visually loud...
20.
he told me the other day, and I forget now some actress from csi i think, or something similar
Than kyou and silentbob Dont watch csi , so that's why I don't know her
21. Obviously, the best thing is to smile alot , look gormless if necessary and don't flap like a budgie. Playing theme tunes for a minute or so has worked for me. Never look stressed!
22.
dude, stop posting that avatar.....
I must be out of touch, but who is the Avatar?
23. Saw Maiden in the very early days. Then saw them from the somewhere in time tour till that dreadful gig where Anthrax blew them clean off at Wembley. Didn't bother with them for a while till I saw them at the Clive Burr benefit gig. Cant remember if it was Brixton or Hammy , but that was one of the lowest gigs I'd been to.(volume wise that is) Okay gig, but there was one long song about Scotland I think that was dire. Saw them at Twickenham and , despite the crap sound, they played a blinder. Couldn't get into the final frontier at all, but the album before that was imho the best thing since somewhere in time. You 'll enjoy 'em
