1. Don't pay the gas bill for a month ??
2. Two things : Battery compartments on my Steinberger, or washburn status. Too many screws, too fiddly ,and old fashioned battery patch with two wires etc. Hollowbody basses..only one stap button
3. And now for another confusing slant on downtuning: when I learned SCOM , I downloaded bass tab from the internet . So the tuning was : e flat , a flat, d flat g flat.. I then followed the tab the best I could, and it sounded 'right'. So when we had next rehearsal, and I did what was instructed, why were the guitarists telling me I'm wrong? Also, when the guitarists put their capos on I assume (pleeeze tell me if I'm wrong), that a 5 string is best for that and you just play the same pattern of a song moving your hand ' up' onto the b string instead of the e . confused ?
4. I feel your pain. In my last band, I too had to learn scom. I tuned down to d flat as per original. Then guitarist s ask what am I playing?? Then one of guitarist says play in e . so then the song sounds pony. I've got a 5 string. but some bands make things comPlicated for the sake of it. Btw : isn't it annoying when other bandmembers suggest songs, not realising that they are tricky on bass?? If I suggest UFO doctor doctor, the guitarists say it's too hard ..... Aaargh
5. Great post! Will have to upload some ambient stuff tomorrow, like Klaus SchulzeTimewind, or Tangerine dream Dolphin dance unless somebody beats me to it

10. Borderline in manette street, around the corner from the Royal George ??
11. That green bass is cool ! Almost thinking of swapping my tele for it
12. Yes! Absolutely no treble, just one big mudbucker pickup. Sounds great through my Aguilar setup. It depends what stuff it is you play. Some band members would call it 'too wooly" Or too muffled, especially with flatwounds.
13.
It's like the ole classic joke, What do you call a bassist with no girlfriend? ... Homeless
That's me, and bandless
14. I've been out of a band since November. Don't miss it at the moment. Being in a band is like being in a job: Holidays, sickness, irritating people and moaning and groaning. Not always , but sometimes. Take a break for a while. You'll know when you're ready to start again .
15. That track wasn't bad. Abit too long perhaps. Have a track by them on some metal comp. back in he early90's. Something about 3 little pigs or something. Liked that one .
16. Was he in Molly Hatchett?
17. Could try a Wasburn Status , but they're only 4 strings. Very Bright tho'
18. Howdy! Went to Seattle for a week when grunge was out. Nice city.
19. I too have 9 . The way I look at it is, I may not get back as much as I paid for most bought in my midlife crisis. Sometimes I look on here ,or fleabay to see if I could possibly swap one or two for' the one'. Nothing has caught my eye at the moment
