1. Have you gone into the line 6 site and tried their latest version .? I had to go to the licence and register my podfarm 1. When I did, I got podfarm 2. I use mac . Other than that, I have no idea
2.
Are we talking about recording or live use? On stage, I usually just use my amp's DI-out, and if I can I will also mic my cab because a mic captures the tube drive of my Ampeg preamp in a much nicer way. In the studio, I like to have choice so I generally take both a DI in front of my amp, the DI out of my amp, and a mic too if I can. My bass directly through a DI into the mixing desk provides a nice clean foundation with clear and well-defined lows for low-end push. Then I take the DI out of my amp for 'my' tone. And preferably a mic too because the tube drive of my Ampeg just sounds nicer through some good bass speakers with a mic in front In my experience, most live sound techs are lazy and just want a good DI signal to work with.
Sorry, not talking live use. Just for plugging into mixer and recording on garageband.
3. My gk amp has a d I out, and I was thinking of getting cable from there into mixer
4. Thank you Andy . Do you know if you can adjust the controls on the amp, or are they bypassed ?
5. Is this better than bass guitar into mixer.?
6. ..or just plug bass in via guitar cable? I haven't used the gk for recording, and wonder if it will make much difference.
7. F@@king ipad won't show clips! Just blank spaces. Will look into this thread in more detail, on my Mac mini soon.
8. Speaking of coffee..whatever happened to those shops with cats in them??
9. Wrong kind of bass. If it were bright yellow, he would be much more popular .
10. 90p for a cappuccino ?( if I stay for half an hour) . Bargain. I know there's corruption in Russia , but this sounds too good to be true. What's the name of this coffee shop? Is it a chain ?
11. I use. Line 6 toneport ux1. USB interface. Does the job.
12. I tend to do both(effects and none). It's just that I'm amazed by the extra features 'on the fly'. Obviously, if you're not recording then effects are handy and fun if you want them.
13. Yeah, for that price you've gotta have a look
14. How many hours have you booked? Myself and old band, got there around 10am and finished around4.30. Manage to record 4 tracks. This included setting up (mr.drums included). Not as stressful as I thought. We were only going to do 3 tracks. Good vibe. Hope it goes well.
15. If you're looking for a headless and fretless bass, someone on here us selling a washburn status. If I had the cash, I would have it. You probably know about steinberger anyway;)
16. Have a look at the amps for sale here. You never know. Just try to get something portable and loud. This means it wil be compact enough for home, and for band situations.
17. I have a few effects for bass already, but after recording a short noodle on garageband, I used the chorus effect on that for convenience. Having scrolled down the interface, it got me thinking. If there are effects already built in to garage band, if you're not gigging, do you really need effects ? I'm thinking whether to sell mine now. However, I will be getting the bass whammy when that coms out. What do you think?
18. Riverside make cheap basses, also headless. First noticed the brand on eBay . Doesn't do anything for me on looks. I would avoid. Only my opinion tho'
19. Went to see him for the one (and only) time back in '85. Constrictor tour. Wembley arena. Enjoyed it at the time. As he was doing a record signing at virgin megastore on the following Monday, I thought I'd pop over to see him . What a miserable b@stard I thought to myself. He didn't speak , and was thoroughly p@ssed off over something. It wasn't till I read somewhere, that he nearly died at the wembley gig! Apparently the noose was strangling him , as it was too tight . I love the killer album, the poison single and the greatest hits. Other than that, I'm not a fan
20.
What's the obsession with year of birth basses? There's no way you could have played one back then :-) What about collecting "year of first bass" bass I.e.what bass should you have bought when you got your rubbish first bass?
Interesting point. 1979...no headless basses then
21. Is the Rob Allen deep 5 good for metal? Nice bass
22. Interesting. You could keep bass, change bridge , and. Amp (for the sound you want) Sounds like you want shortscale bass. Apparently, gibsons aren't very popular with many on here. Looks like a mustang is the way to go. If you have come into a lot of money , buy an original with competition stripes
