1. Let's stop mincing around , and somebody help the nice op find MR.Bass. I'll help by bumping this thread again;)
2. Delay, reverb ,flanger.
3. Some of the maddest people are great musicians. Go for it .
4. Years ago, I had a hondo2 . I was looking on eBay recently and they are highly respected 'lawsuit' axes apparently.
5. This thread is great. I will have to look at this on my Mac mini tomorrow, as I think I am missing some content on my ipad.
6. Another legend gone. I found his stuff more miss than hit. (Lulu for example). He seemed to have attitude. I remember when johnnie walker tried to interview him in a hotel, and he basically just grunted. Maybe he had issues. Saw him supporting U2 on the Joshua tree gig at wembley and he was dire. However, after hearing the New York album on GLR radio, I bought it and think its a great album. Rip anyway
7.
They say a real man can wear pink. I am wanting a Flea Bass, have been for a while. Finally given up on getting a Lane Poor version, having heard various sound clips of the Seymour Duncan + OBP-1 preamp I'm convinced that's ok. But..... my friend has this one for sale and it is in purple metal flake!!! It's not cheap, but then again will they ever will be. I'm only go to play this at home, the little kid in me wants a Flea Bass just for the awesome tone and fun of it, purple flake is kinda fun? Please guys and gals, give it to me straight, no holding back, be nice, be mean, just don't be diplomatic! Thanks.
Man wearing pink and says 'give it to me straight'. Normally , no can do , but as this is purple I would say buy it. Nice bass
8. Maybe you call talk to the cool folk at status? They may even send you another.
9.
But they make so many for us!
Actually, I bought computing for dummies back in 2000. It was a great book, and showed / inspired me how to purchase my first computer;)
10. Glad you got sorted. If you were near Waterloo , you could've loaned my dean taxi bass. Might have blinded the punters in bright yellow tho'
11. GK mbs3 with Extm cab should do it. Light and loud .
12. Nice basses, especially the Warwick
13. There are too many to choose from
14.
This is our nearest studio, only 10 minutes away from us, but what a dump! They have just finished the new complex with a shop which is nice, but the studios in the new building cost as much as £18 per hour. The old studios which are outside are damp, smelly and just downright disgusting.
Aah. Is that tw@t still there? Always rushed us out of there. Sounds like speedy Gonzales
15. I used to rehearse in mill hill, near hammers lane. Not sure if that's nearer? The guy running it was Portuguese (or was it Dutch?). Bit of a tw@t when it comes to rushing you out .
16.
Thanks again chaps, knew you'd understand. BTW, my playing has NEVER been criticised, only praised. More to the point though, I haven't responded to the email I received yesterday. Would a reply cheapen me or strengthen me?
As isaid earlier ,bounce it . The email equivalent of return to sender. Job done. Now sling your hook(into the river) Sorry
17. AirPlay in Ashford ? Ian is a top guy to deal with too
18. When you got email, did you 'bounce' it? You could still do that
19. Nice colour, but I have too many basses and little cash. have a bump anyway
20. Seeing I'm a headless guy, who likes vibrant colours, I would probably get status make me a yellow or green one. Or kubicki. I would get one that does a fretted and fret less neck,soI could change at will. It would be passive too for a change.
21.
Geoff, bad news, pass on our best wishes to your drummer. I don't believe how easily the other two guys have thrown in the towel! You're not starting over, you're just looking for a new drummer. If "young families" were an issue surely they'd have left before this!
Exactly this
22.
I think it was the Boss ME8B that I had. It had a great PWM* sound that was probably lifted from the SYB3 pedal. *Pulse Width Modulation
I have th me 8b. Complicated for me at first. My first effects unit other Ghana chorus at the time. Manual is complicated .have since bought seperate mini rack effects , but will keep it for the synth/octave etc.
23. Sorry to hear it. HopeMr.Drums makes a full recovery. It's never good when a band you like implodes. Hope you get another soon
