1. Yes, it is good for metal
2. Nice thread. Good to see
3. Used to play the groundhogs loadsa times in the "80s. I've still got vinyl from Christ to crosscut/black diamond. Haven't touched it for years. Huge respect for Shuie ts McPhee . bought a white label copy of crosscut saw in the '80s also. No track listing ,but it sounded good;) Fave albums at the time were hogwash(good production on that album), who will save the world solid and split. They lost their way abit in the mid 70s imho. Got some double live album in the 80s which is pretty poor imho. I may dig out some of their vinyl and play it if I get in the mood, but my tastes have expanded abit over the years, and I may not get around to it.
4. Doesn't sound good. Have you tried factory reset/restore?
5. Ch guitars? If you go to a guitar tech, they have loads of knobs/switches etc.
6. Would love to see Sesame Street. Have a Sheehan bump
7.
I don't really want to sell this, but something I've always wanted (not bass related) has become available so this is up for sale while the other item is still around. It's a spanking new Yamaha Attitude 3 signature bass. I've had it for a couple of months. Last in - First out. It's in perfect condition and has the proper hardcase and paperwork (more photos to follow). Full specs and some videos about the new wood treatment process and structure are on the Yamaha site here: http://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical-instruments/guitars-basses/el-basses/signature_models/attitude_limited_3/?mode=model Would love to see 'sesame street'. Have a Sheehan bump It has all the bits you expect - the split outputs (you can combine them by pulling up the P volume control), scallopped upper frets; Hipshot D-Tuner etc As per my usual musical leaning these days it has been played in the house and gigged with an Orchestra / County Music Group The last gig was with an Early Years Ukulele group where I rocked the house playing the melody part for 'Sesame Street' - complete with 2 amps using the split signal system!! the Ukulele kids thought I'd over done it a bit! So - no trades on this I'm afraid and I'm pretty firm on the price as it will just cover my mystery item! Collection / meet up is preferred. I'm in Northamptonshire near Junction 16 of the M1
8. Possibly just carry the head? Should go on plane as hand luggage? Then ,you could hire/ buy cheap cab.
9. Yeah, I think there was one out this year. Heard a few tracks from it. Very catchy
10. I just didn't want to get my wires crossed.
11. Some of their songs are really catchy. A. Couple of years ago, I think they played download (or was it reading/Leeds). I remember looking at the billing and saying ' ' wtf is Billy Talent?!?' Apparently they've been going for 10 years. Don't know about going to see them, but I must download some of their tunes .
12. Don't think I can comment on this thread, as I don't want to be involved in a heated argument .
13. Just received 2 emails asking me if everything's ok. Nice people to do business with;)
14. You could always put it down to Trace Elliot.Big ,fat ,heavy and awkward. Tell him he should know better if he's a gigging bass player. Oh, and he never even watched your set? Rude , but not uncommon. You could tell Facebook that
15.
they are good ELO....go back now and see if hes got ant 10cc.....very well written songs well performed and of a similar era
Yeah, I had how dare you on cassette . Again, I feel old
16.
I see what you. did there!
Coat got ...
17. That's the spirit steinbergers are cool
18.
I went thru my Dad's records when i was 17. I had a few of them... Made in Japan and some others i can't remember. But i ws suprised how into prog and Jazz fusion he was. I had no idea. Also he had an album by a band called Isotope. Turned out the guitar player, Gary Boyle, was one of my teachers at college. Small world!
Made in japan . My fave purple album
19.
Not new to ELO by a long stretch but like many here, I've just forgotten about them and they've been adsorbed in to the pages of music history in terms of how current they are, Mr Blue Sky is forever on the radio and is, in my opinion, a fantastic feel good song, but it's not their best work without a shadow of doubt! Found the Are You Experienced Album, as well as two or three Cream albums, there's plenty of Fleetwood Mac, as my Dad was a big fan of them. Got a few Deep Purple albums like Burn and some Iron Maiden ones. Will continue looking tomorrow, now is time for some bass playing!
Iron maiden?!? God I feel old . Had out of the blue and a couple of elo singles. Sold 'em and became a headbanger. Must download some again. Has your dad got any sparks ?
20. Just don't have a pink bathroom! So wrong on many levels
21. Not sure tbh. I got a GK micro combo, and that is the Extn speaker that would complete my setup. I suppose it's down to homage as well.(probably 4 or8 ohms). I think if you had 2 , the output would be split . General rule if thumb is to have less watts from head amp going into speaker.
