1. If you're looking for a headless and fretless bass, someone on here us selling a washburn status. If I had the cash, I would have it. You probably know about steinberger anyway;)
2. Have a look at the amps for sale here. You never know. Just try to get something portable and loud. This means it wil be compact enough for home, and for band situations.
3. I have a few effects for bass already, but after recording a short noodle on garageband, I used the chorus effect on that for convenience. Having scrolled down the interface, it got me thinking. If there are effects already built in to garage band, if you're not gigging, do you really need effects ? I'm thinking whether to sell mine now. However, I will be getting the bass whammy when that coms out. What do you think?
4. Riverside make cheap basses, also headless. First noticed the brand on eBay . Doesn't do anything for me on looks. I would avoid. Only my opinion tho'
5. Went to see him for the one (and only) time back in '85. Constrictor tour. Wembley arena. Enjoyed it at the time. As he was doing a record signing at virgin megastore on the following Monday, I thought I'd pop over to see him . What a miserable b@stard I thought to myself. He didn't speak , and was thoroughly p@ssed off over something. It wasn't till I read somewhere, that he nearly died at the wembley gig! Apparently the noose was strangling him , as it was too tight . I love the killer album, the poison single and the greatest hits. Other than that, I'm not a fan
6.
What's the obsession with year of birth basses? There's no way you could have played one back then :-) What about collecting "year of first bass" bass I.e.what bass should you have bought when you got your rubbish first bass?
Interesting point. 1979...no headless basses then
7. Is the Rob Allen deep 5 good for metal? Nice bass
8. Interesting. You could keep bass, change bridge , and. Amp (for the sound you want) Sounds like you want shortscale bass. Apparently, gibsons aren't very popular with many on here. Looks like a mustang is the way to go. If you have come into a lot of money , buy an original with competition stripes
9. Great playing. You too are a monster
10. But you're making up for it now , well done
11. Most kids have the flu bug this time of year. Good to see this . My dad never gave me any encouragement .
12. If you're playing live, turn down and mute the strings. Mr.mayung seems to have a fairly Inaudible sound live compared to the other band members imho
13. I have the fretted version of this . Is this a defret, or 'proper' fretless? Why do these things come up at the wrong time? ( if it's here longer than a couple of weeks, I may make you an offer . Thinking of selling my vester now . Have a bump anyway
14. It was the rock garden ?
15. Was it called rock house back in the day? When I was young, and before I could play , I always wanted to play there. Never do unfortunately . Usedt to llove working around there years ago
16. Better off with an interface imho
17. That's a really cool bass
18. I like that
19. After spending years doing Les Dawson impressions( pre band and band), I'm away from all the prima donnas and can be as tuneless as I like . What I do now is record bits on soundcloud. Obviously with the bass, but also keyboard bits from iPad apps. Still need to record properly ( verse chorus etc) What I would like to doi is like the guy above- just for fun rehearsal with no pretences;)
20. Good stuff. Hate rap, but listened to most of it. Trumpets etc. were good.
21.
Schecter though I think in the UK have almost zero desirability, in my mind I associate them with american metal bands I've never heard of, they also were THE brand that you could get for next to nothing in Soundcontrol (remember them?) and would always be in the sale. I have no idea about their marketing but virtually every other maker I could tell you something about their back story - not schecter - If I had to guess I would think they were a poor mans korean version of ESP or something.... hang on google it... googled.... well the logo is set in black letter... there's a way of limiting your appeal! oh according to Wikipedia I'm half right, started as a spare parts and upgrade company, then moved to making high end stuff then mass production, owned by the same person as ESP and now made in korea... scarily good guess....
