1. It all seems so corporate now. Wouldn't be surprised if Metallica played there one day. If they did, they would rock the place out . IMHO . Suppose super grass /suede./pulp could do it. If it's someone I really care about , I'd get the DVD . Glastonbury is all miss and hit to me . Btw; oasis would've been great there tho '
2. Now, if someone bought my Telebass ....
3. Ted nugent used these ( I think )
4. Can you just put a set of these on, or is there a lot of messing around?
5. You don't wanna be ska'd for life . Time to go ..
6.
Not my cuppa stylewise but it's a great-sounding promo and the playing is very accomplished. Liking the Stingray sound - I didn't think they could be as hefty as that - very interesting.
Same here
7. Alexander technique, physio, posture. Headless, or shortscale bass. Oh, and don't play like hookie on stage. Is the strap length the same sitting down as standing ?
8. Think I'll leave it . Too much like hard work, and too much cash;)
9.
They're great sounding synths - I've had the CZ-1000 (full-size key version of the 101) and the CZ-3000, which is like the 5000 without the sequencer. I quite liked the (noisy) chorus on the 3000, but it did add a bit of warmth to the sounds. The multi-stage envelopes enabled them to do things you couldn't do with the analogue polys that ruled the roost at the time. As BRX has said, the VZ series are also worth looking into, but programming them isn't as simple or 'immediate' as the CZ series but the screen gives a graphic representation of what's going on with some parameters, unlike the numbers-only display on a DX7. I've currently got a VZ-1 although I need to replace the backlight on it soon. Just a pity it was overlooked in favour of the DX7 at the time (or more accurately, the DX7 MkII) as with the extra waveforms (something Yamaha didn't address until the TX-81z/DX11), you have more scope for sound design. This advert still makes me laugh though: http://youtu.be/GPWEnmEYxqs
Some nice you pube clips . The one with the three keyboard guys is mental ...
10. This thread is good
11. Looks completely the opposite of the dime bag model.(did he play bass as well?!?) Also, in the other 'razor' model, there are two bodies. The basswood one was cheapet. The other one is harder to get hold of.
12. If I experienced bad service from music shops or similar, I would send them an email. In it I would obviously explain why online business is taking over etc. Obviously, I wouldn't frequent the premises again and that would be the end of it. Basschat would be notified , in a topic . If however I got an apology, I would give them another chance and also inform Basschat . Is there really a shop called pmt?
13. I did think about the whammy. That was back in the'80s tho' thanks for the advice tho'. I think you're right .
14. Doubt if that will happen;). It's just that I often see ads for a DB bridge , and am wondering if it entails more than just swapping over..
15. Is it just a case of a straight swap? Is it worth thinking about, or should I just leave it and not bother? Cheers
16.
The DAW doesn't matter really if all the stems are wavs then any DAW can be used for the job . I guess like most things you get what you pay for , though luck can come into it both ways. Some good advice already though
Does this mean even garageband, could do it ?
17. As I am bored this Good Friday , thought I'd ask your opinions on this. I like an easy life, and prefer headless anyway. Obviously, it wouldn't be me doing it . I would take bass to a tech to do it. I have 2 headless basses (washburn status & and steinberget xm3) . I don't want to do the conversion on those. What I was thinking tho', is purchasing a Kramer duke or similar , and have something compact and different. Is it worth doing? Is it costly? Let me have your opinions. Cheers
18. If the guy recorded it on logic , maybe he could email to someone who also has logic. The recipient. Could perhaps make improvements that way. The last demo my last band did was a complete nightmare. Because mr. Guitar did not want to pay the same as the rest, he got 2 dj's he knew. However, I noticed that they recorded it on logic at the time. If I understood it , I could have done a better job of it myself. Over to others ....
19. Ok. Synth stuff is notoriously difficult for bass guitar. This pedal has a lot of stuff . The octave stuff is brilliant. Cheap and cheerful .
20. If it's in the higher price bracket, it could be the high chaparral
