  1. Gigging is not a problem for me. All my fan socially distances himself.
  2. Purely a personal taste thing (or arguably lack of). I can't stand Fender basses. They're just bland with a side order of meh. Those stupid big elephant ear tuners make me want to retch, and the shape of the headstock is like the elephant mans eyebrow. Although at least the Jag has a far more interesting body shape than the standard P or J basses, so it has that going for it. YMMV.
  3. They don't go for much anyway. I sold one in absolutely immaculate condition recently for the equivalent of about £140. They're great for the money, but damn they're ugly! (Purely subjective of course). I sold mine because I couldn't ever see myself playing it in public. Now I'm trying to get into a bit of recording I wish I'd kept it because it sounded great.
  4. This ^ I just don't get it. I mean I understand it, from a memorabilia point of view. But as an instrument, no way! I can't understand how or why someone, other than a museum or hall of fame type establishment, would pay that kind of money for something that's otherwise worth, at best a few hundred quid, just because it's been in the hands of someone "famous"'
  5. I can't even remember the name of the band I used to be in.
  6. I've got the full fat one. As already said, it's a superb bit of kit. With a bit of practice I'd happily gig with it.
  7. Bass guitar for 10 year old Seems like a fair swap. If only I had a 10 year old.
  8. Is this like the textual version of a Mic drop. Billy's here! FULL STOP!
  9. Did you work at Bletchley Park? I'd never have figured that out. 😂
  10. When do they arrive @binky_bass? I'm tempted to have a punt on a set myself, but I'll let you test the water first. I have a dead spot on a couple of notes on my sixer, and I don't know if it's the strings, the pick ups, or something else. It might be a cheap way of ruling out the strings.
  11. That's a ridiculous price for the M13. I paid nearly £300 for mine not too many years ago. Glwts.
  12. You are a walking bass encyclopedia Andy. You never cease to amaze me.
  13. The 4 string is a Traben Neo Ltd with a few upgrades, Seymour Duncan pups, preamp and Grover tuners etc. The sixer is an ESP B-206SM.
  14. I'm also a big fan of the natural look. Although I much prefer a modern looking bass to the classic Fender style.
  15. You could all move to Bulgaria. I've got a spare room. 😂 The bars are open. Gigs are back on, and my band is now rehearsing again.
  16. I've played one of these, and actually owned the later model for a couple of weeks. They're a lot better than the name and price point would suggest. A good introduction for anyone wanting to try a sixer without spending a lot of money.
  17. I watched a few too. Although they were entertaining, they just didn't work for me. They don't have anything like the impact of a "live" gig. Going to see a band is as much about the atmosphere as it is the music. You just don't get that through a TV screen. (Well, I don't anyway)
  18. I like the original https://youtu.be/XZVpR3Pk-r8 Love the cover https://youtu.be/XkKulSH2nNc No idea why it's just posted the links instead of imbedding the videos.
  19. For me, this is the best cover version ever recorded, by a country mile.
  20. It's got to be Steve Harris for me. Everyone else is replaceable. No Steve Harris, no Iron Maiden.
  21. It's just greed! Most band's struggle to find one decent drummer.
  22. Ah yes indeed. It was supposed to be on t'other one. Not quite sure how I managed that.
